I don’t even like Mazara but I’ll take his youth, potential upside, and mediocre consistency over a 32 year old who put up OPS’s of .725 and .652 before his “breakout” year last season.

Always winning an argument when you have to resort to OPS.

They aren’t. Their fans are just morons who don’t know anything about baseball.

The Sox aren’t pulling Moncada or Madrigal late in the game for a defensive replacement unless it’s an absolute blowout.  Also, his ability to switch hit is not valuable when he’s not good from either

Yeesh, the Halos should just have kept and traded him.

What?  His option was basically the same amount for 2020 as the entire deal he just signed for both 2020 & 2021.

No reason why we couldn't have signed him to a deal worth $11.

He clearly loves New York. He's from there as @Soxnfins pointed out

How about his age, potential for decline, and inconsistency which I also mentioned?

Well looks like we might get some signings today prior to xmas day. That's cool. Maybe will get a surprise Castellanos signing.

He's 32 and STEAMER projects that he's at least worth his contract value the next 2 years. He's hardly the bad player you're making him out to be.

Are we going to have to hear whining about Tatis Jr. for the next decade? I try to pretend the Sox never signed him and SD did.

It's been nearly 3.5 years from the trade, we can stop whining now. He's gone and isn't coming back.

I support Quin's idea to change either Tatis or Tatis Jr. to Voldemort via filter.

People still whine about it. I've been as guilty as anyone. We all need to put it behind us.

Not bringing him up for no reason at all would be a good place to start.

Happy Birthday Carlton Fisk. 72 years old today.

This would be interesting and I think a very DOABLE trade for both teams.

However, a reply on that tweet brings up a good point - WHY does Atlanta have to send prospects back when Arenando is getting paid his market value?

Come on Braves, just bring back Donaldson to screw the Twins and Cubs.

Because there aren't just Nolan Arenado's laying around to go get.

The Rockies are not dealing Arenado without getting a few legitimate pieces back in return. Also the Rockies would likely have to toss in $20 million or so to help balance out a deal.

Tough to see him getting moved, I think Bryant is more likely.

Right. Also, unless Arenado suddenly reverts to a 3 WAR player, he's likely to still provide surplus value above his salary. He's really good.

Because he's really good?  You aren't getting prime Arenado as a salary dump lol.

Really, Really good. As in top 10 (arguably 5) in baseball good. It's going to cost for that.

Corey Dickerson is taking his talents to South Beach per Katy Perry. Two years $15M Jon Heyman.

Not a bad deal.  That’s probably around what Mazara will earn if he is here for two seasons via arbitration.
