There are a few more responses to that original tweet as well

If I'm Jerry...and I'm nearly old enough to be...that tweet alone pushes me to spend another $5 MM to get him signed.

  • Honestly curious - do you think people think this type of stuff (posting in every thread at once) and the poop bit are funny?

  • we just saw two of the most expensive rotations in baseball squaring off in the World Series but yes spending on pitching is a terrible idea.

Just how we drew it up, my friend.

Yup, just got to hope they can close this out!  With Grandal & Wheeler in place, we have much more flexibility and can be patient for the right opportunities to complete the rest of the roster.

yea but those 42 starts by 7 league minimum guys cost the Sox ~3.5m whereas Zack Wheeler is going to throw 180 innings and cost 22.5m?

In order to be Jerry, you must think like Jerry.

When you're as old as Jerry, you can be a "new" Jerry.

Any quick way to see how many of those 42 games we won?

Can’t wait for Adam Wheeler to be on the WS Talk Podcast soon

No, but I'm sure its pretty safe to assume the Sox lost ALL of them.

Wheeler’s other brother retweeted one of Mike’s other tweets lol

Post it!!

Look at who retweeted it

Doesn't mean anything that Wheeler's brothers are retweeting. We brought Jon Jay and Yonder Alonzo to lure Machado...so until it's official...

Sources: Sox offer Wheeler brothers jobs as consultants for the organization.

We are the highest bidder this time with a great offer.

Let's hope, Sonofa...and nice add, RayRay!

God Wheeler + Grandal = the AL Central is totally fucked

Would be amazing to watch. Hell, give the guy a defense around him and watch him do work.

I was going to misspell Zack Wheeler too, but I thought that was too much.

Ooh if you would've done Zach Wheeler that would have been good.

The weirdest tweet of the day and of this entire negotiating process for me was "Sox reportedly willing to go to 110" if pressed. What the heck kind of leak is that? Why would the Sox want Wheeler to know they'd go higher lol if they have the highest offer? Only reason it makes any sense - assuming it's not nonsense which is very possible - is that the Sox are trying to chase off other bids? Maybe? That's the only way I see that making any sense.

Wouldn't the "28th worst defense" be the 3rd best defense?

I don't know if you want to lead the league in change up velocity. You'd think the slower the better.

I think with additions of Grandal and Wheeler, along with the continued progression of our core guys, we're looking at an 82-85 win team right now.  Add another starter and two bullpen pieces and we're threatening 90

I would love for them to bring in Hamels on a 1 year deal
