Which SPs on the trade market would you guys think qualify as "coveted"?

David Price probably, though I don’t know if I would consider him to be “coveted”

One of these is not like the others.

Walker is also a FA.

I'd love a Robbie Ray + Peralta to Sox deal.  Worth noting Ray is a FA after 2020 though.

Dylan Cease + for Thor

And then still have 2 rotation spots to fill?  Not saying I wouldn't do that deal - I would - but we're not really in a position to be trading from our limited MLB SP crop.

Not saying that I would do that deal, but if you're gonna trade Cease you do it this offseason and try to get top value for him

i mean thor has great stuff but cease i think going to be stud that we regret trading away

Maybe it’s just their evaluation of what Cease projects to be. There’s a few prospects I think they’re lower on than general consensus.

Sweet.  Let's trade Robert for the ghost of Kluber.  Awesome.

That looks pretty realistic and appealing to me, although I question why they would need Gennett.

Seems like the kinda of guy that should get a starting gig on a rebuilding team.

I get your point but I also think it's quite likely that Cease's trade value increases after next season, even though he loses a year of control

Yeah you'd def have to go after Ryu and add that back end SP spot still.

Why is plan B not Strasburg? 5/$150 should get it done and isn't much more than the 5/$125 they offered Wheeler. Get the ace.

If 5 and 150 would have gotten it done, he would be a White Sox right now.

Whoa....talk about upsetting some fans, highly doubtful he’s on the table for anyone

Gray or Marquez from the Rockies would be interesting.

Some of the posters here are putting too much stock in the prospects after Vaughn.  They likely won't have any viable path to this team unless something really bad happens.  Assuming we get a SP and RF there is no spot for a Walker or anyone to even fill.  Maybe hold onto Dunning incase Lopez fizzles out?  They need to get a #2 SP, I don't really care what they give up for it.

Why would the Rockies be trading Marquez?

With all the heat surrounding the WS...I would think 2 deals by Thursday is a lead pipe cinch.

Yea, I think we all could have predicted at least two deals.

He probably just means the Sox covet a starting pitcher.  The position of SP is what he's describing as being  coveted, not necessarily a player who is coveted by the league in general.
