  • The Sox starters are some of the most ill-prepared to begin a game I've ever seen. And that's a reflection on their useless pitching coach.

WTF are you talking about.   To be fair though, I ask that myself for about 80% of your posts

He caught a foul ball off the net, making it a dead ball, and people are mad that he didn't immediately throw the ball in (again, it was a dead play)

Sox keep using the same game plan with Giolito. Fastball and change up until the 3rd time thru the order.  If we can see it, then advanced scouts can also.

Every ballpark is fucking empty...why are they so shitty at home this year!?!?

Just like that game 1 against the Angels in 2005...Angels got in late, etc....but it ended up being the only game they lost that post season.

Byrd vs. Contreras.    And Jose was pretty much the best pitcher in baseball taking the mound that night, had a long streak of not losing a game that extended into May, 2006, when he got hurt coming off the mound to cover 1st and hurt his Achilles' tendon in Cincinnati.

MAN! I was thinking the exact same thing. Even before the game.

but the different is we weren’t sitting on our hands waiting. We were still playing. So, really, no excuse.

There has to be some correlation between being home and how bad they have played.

his velocity is down and his changeup is hanging up there, not great bob.

Eloy thought it was rock 'n jock game apparently and that attitude extends to the team.  Get the fucking ball in, show some fucking urgency instead of fucking around.

This first inning nonsense has to stop.

Much better inning.

Let’s get 2 back this inning.

For real. If that ball didn't hit the net you just let everyone move up 90 feet.

guys are TOO comfie at home, it's obvious.  I guess when you can lolly gag in the OF and never get benched that's what happens.

But it did, so he didn't.

these MLB.tv commercials are depressing, annoying and I'd pay extra to auto mute them.

Frequently start the game looking completely unprepared.

Laughably bad 1st innings.

Playing like complete dog shit at home.

What is the connection?

Whats Gio's ERA in the first inning over the last 2 years?

Is this a DH that continues 30 mins after game 1?

Nice play by Robert.

Usually you see guys get stuck in the ground and then they lose their focus on the ball, very smooth there.

If you really think about it Giolito got killed by the BABIP gods in the 1st inning. Neither the Fowler hit or the hit by their catcher were hit that hard. If the Fowler one is just a pop up like it's supposed to be he gets out of it with one run.

That's not the issue. It's the attitude and lack of urgency.

He's been 93-95 for awhile now...

yeah, thats why i cancelled. I find my streams through other means now. Its ridiculous that you pay AND have to be subjected to commercials. Obnoxious

Nobody knew that.  You play out the play.  I just don't understand how a MLB player holds the ball in that situation.  A little leaguer would have chucked it in faster, regardless of the ruling in real time by the umps, which Eloy could not have known.

They weren't hit hard but they each had hit probabilities around 90%
