September 13, 20205 yr With Kopeck, Steiver, Lopez, and Rodon fighting for 5th starter spot ..... do we need pitching? There is an obvious hole in RF that needs to be addressed.... preferably a LH option Joc Pederson? EE will probably be replaced with Abreu at Dh and Vaughn will take over at 1B Not sure Colome will be back ..... depends on $$$$$ .... Maybe Hauer takes over as the closer. Would love to see McCann return again depends on$$$$$$. If he's not back Collins & Yermin will back up at C DH & 1B
September 13, 20205 yr 2021 will be a much more difficult and gruelling year. For this year, the white sox have been lucky enough to catch some breaks. They will need more depth next year.
September 13, 20205 yr Bauer and Springer for me. Lineup without holes and Giolito/Keuchel/Bauer/Kopech + Cease + Dunning fighting for the last 2 slots. Stiever in AA/AAA, maybe used for a big trade if Springer doesn't sign?. See what's out there in FA for relievers, or trade someone like Sheets/Yermin Mercedes for bullpen help.

September 13, 20205 yr Bauer Then trade for one of the mets outfielders. Id prefer Conforto but he only has one year left so cant give up much unless hes willing to sign an extension and forego free agency (would adolfo+sheets/burger get it done?). Mcneil or smith make more sense, at least if you believe smith can handle a full season in right field. Edited September 13, 20205 yr by ChiSox1917

Maybe it takes Stiever + a lower level prospect. He is a perfect fit on this team.
September 14, 20205 yr Vaughn should be a big upgrade over EE. I would think finding a 0.5 WAR RF wouldn’t be too difficult? Honestly I don’t think Colome is good enough to win you a WS at closer. Need an upgrade.
September 14, 20205 yr This year has definitely made the Sox a “cool” team for players to sign with this offseason. As long as JR doesn’t have to cut payroll, there’s no reason they can’t be a juggernaut the next few years.

Id prefer mcneil personally but nimmo would be a big upgrade. when healthy in 2018 he put up a 4+ WAR, and if this was a full season hed be on pace for about a 3.3 WAR. Hes also got several years of control left. hes a solid player that is just entering his peak years. But really any one of the four of them would be nice to get.

You can count on that. Rodon might get non tendered if he still wants a chance to start . I'd tell him he's going to the pen and if he doesn't like it Non-Tender him and see just how many teams want to give him much of a chance to start with his injury history.Who knows they might give Mazara another shot in RF though he is a non tender candidate too. Colome isnt pretty but pretty good save percentages over the time the Sox have had him but he probably tests Free Agency like McCann. Sign Bauer and now you have Cease, Dunning , Kopech and maybe even Stiever and Lopez to go along with Gio, Keuchel and Bauer at the top. That's 8 starting pitchers so some will be in the minors for a bit or the pen like Stiever, Kopech , Rodon or Lopez. Really still too much up in the air about next season to make determinations now. Bullpen will probably need some help . Right now it's the weak spot but the starting pitching has been surprisingly good all season.

I wasn't sure, i don't have the time to watch as much baseball as most on here. I make enough to watch the sox anymore ?

September 14, 20205 yr I'm a tad bit drunk (oops) but if the sox find a way to land Ninmo without giving up Dunning/Kopech, and sign Bauer - they're the 21 WS favorites in my mind. That's an automatic grand slam offseason, and there's really no reason it shouldn't be possible.

He'd get what, an invitation to spring training and maybe a deal where he's released if he doesn't make the major league team if he was a free agent? If the White Sox have $6 million to spend, which isn't guaranteed at all - there will be better ways to spend that money.
September 14, 20205 yr If Mazara is the WS MVP this season, I think he'll be back in 2021. It could happen...Ricky clearly is not going to stop playing him and you never know what happens come playoffs ?
