don't like that he swung at that pitch - but he hit it hard.

Good fight in the end.  Right guy up at the plate.  Crap.

Dallas dug us an early hole.  Very disappointing.

He hit it hard. A few feet either direction and it’s tied.

Yep just good defensive positioning. Can’t be too upset at that.

Tough ending but awesome that they clawed back into it, and its great that the A's lost Hendricks for tomorrow. Plus this gives me way more confidence that we can score on their bullpen tomorrow.

No guarantees he gets a better pitch than that, not like he swung at a ball. He hit it hard, all you can ask for. Abreu ain't up there to walk.

Bring those ABs early tomorrow.

he crushed that ball, i was fine with him swinging

Madrigal has replaced Dybzinski in Sox Playoff lore today.

Still have a good shot on bullpen day tomorrow, and their closer is done.

Big question now is who pitches game 3.  Would be really nice to have lance lynn right about now

Agreed. Smoked it. Can’t ask for more

Abreu murdered that ball. Cant be mad at him for trying to tie the game. Bad luck

not even mad, he smoked it back back up to right field, good positioning by the A's. Go get them tomorrow.

We got the mojo back late, guys. Hopefully blew out their closer, too.

LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!!

no hopefully. hendricks is done; no idea what melvin was doing there.

He got a fastball low and in. That's a hittable pitch. I'd rather Abreu hunt for pitches there instead of them possibly pitching around him.

More Hero Ball BS

That was an exciting inning, but what a shit game

This....

Lots of good to take from that finish.  Especially pushing their closer to 50 pitches.  Don't think he'll be available to pitch in a series clinching game tomorrow.

they weren't going to pitch around him ha

Take a fucking pitch Abreu! christ...

Dont agree. Best hitter of the team got a good pitch to hit and smoked it just at somebody. Even if he walks there they are still a run down, he absolutely has to rip the first fat pitch he sees there.

So this game was officially the final revenge of the Samardzija trade I see?

great effort, good comeback, umpires fucked them. get 'em tomorrow.

you got diekman up two days in a row too, so he's going to have to pitch 3 in a row to go tomorrow.

I thought this game was over in the 7th, but we made them waste their closer and hit him hard. At the very least it's a nice stepping stone for game 3. This loss is on Keuchel and Madrigal.

Crazy to think that Renteria has outmanaged Melvin in this series... and Renteria has been bad as it is.
