It could be worse. You could be a White Sox fan watching a team in the beginning stages of completely squandering a window because ownership is too chicken shit to take a risk to win a championship. A

You're right. Adding Darvish and Snell doesn't move the needle much.

Yankees continue to show that if you perform well there they will keep you into your declining years.

Who knows how its structured ... could be 4/78 and then 2/12 over the last two years. It's just giving the benefit of the doubt that he'll be worth $6mm in each of those last two years. that's a decent gamble to me for a zobrist type guy. 2/12 for DJ to slot in as a backup/UTIL guy playing 80-100 games at ages 36-37? I'm putting this down as win-win for both sides.

Yeah but years 5 and 6 are essentially a 2 year and 12 million dollar deal. Which may be fine with him if he thinks he can't beat that in 4 years.

Just like Machado, he went for the guaranteed money not wanting to bet on himself in the latter years.

Yeah in 4 years he will be 36. Not many 36 year olds getting mega paid these days. He took the extra 10+ mil and is set for his career, whether he is still great in 4 years or not.

The Rays are going to allow 7k attendance. Is it possible they wind up leading the league?

If they allow 7k then 700 will show up.

Money can hide a multitude of sins.

So if the Yankees trade an MLB OF, and 2-3 of their top 5 prospects for Luis Castillo are we still feeling good?  I’m glad Jerry isn’t ok with second place in the division anymore but second place in the league stinks just as bad.......

Is that a rumor?

It hasn’t gone yet but on Yankees Twitter it sounds like Frazier, Schmidt or Garcia (top 2 pitching prospects), and Florial #7 prospect.

That’s who they suggest for any trade ever.

Springer to the Blue Jays or Mets is fine by me. The Blue Jays will typically be blocked by the Yankees, Rays, and Bo Sox. They can winna lot of games and make noise, but it won't be easy. The Mets, Padres, Dodgers, and Braves are all great. So that is a whoever we play in the WS is gonna be a great team anyway.

I'm surprised they were as good as they seemed considering they apparently had NO pitching last year LOL
