And the Sox knew and Jerry didn’t care. This is a total debacle.

One more DUI and he has the same number as WS Rings!!

One more DUI hes probably in jail for a while. He's not too smart. He hits the curb while he was drunk and waits for the police to arrive?

He's 76 years old; probably forgot he was drunk.

Maybe we get lucky and this is the “out” we dreamed of

I didn’t want this criminal scumbag driving on the streets of Chicago before this report. He needs to resign immediately.

Same as it ever was.

LaRussa last publicly  known DUI before this latest DUI.

What a fucking joke. I wasn’t anti TLR, nor was I happy they hired him. But wow. If they knew this (and they had to) and that STILL didn’t deter the hire, what a joke this organization is.

I assume Tony would have told them. I don't know if the Sox would knowingly have known - because I am guessing the decision and any background checks (if any) were already done. If Tony didn't tell them - we'd find out pretty quickly (I would think).  If he did - than I get it, people are human and make mistakes, but it is really hard to defend when it is a 2nd instance and you are a public figure and it begs the question is there a bigger underlying personal issue as it relates to consumption of alcohol (or whatever it was that caused the DUI).

Can’t wait for Sox to sign Furcal

Lol no way, we’ll get an apology and that’ll be that.

I hope so but in jerry organizations stuff like this tends to make them more insular.

i will take the cowards out here and say that if they fire TLR and hire Bochy then I will come back.

odds that happens? small.

edit-  oh and I guess if Jerry dies. that works too.

Don’t forget this is the same guy who had a player on his team die from drinking and driving

How pissed are the Sox that they will likely have to comment to the media

Jerry is going to live to be 100, isn't he?

Odds Tony can follow the strict rules likely in place to start the 2020 season and isn’t getting ripped in bars after games?

What an embarrassment.

The Reinsdorf Organization has been an embarrassment since he and Einhorn bought the White Sox.

Is there any way that they will fire him and hire Bochy now? Because that would be great.

So then won’t hire the guy because his team hit a garbage can to signal a pitch, but they hire a guy who gets drunk and hits a garbage can with his car?

Don’t worry guys, it’s all part of the PLAN.

Gotta love having a drunk grandpa as our manager.

Mod Note: Merged the posts from the TLR thread into this thread; Figure this deserves its own thread.

AJ Hinch has better character than Tony La Russa

They knew

Tony not going anywhere, JR knew this.
