February 14, 20215 yr Alright guys, assuming everyone is healthy and Vaughn is somehow on the OD roster, predict what you think the lineup will be. Feel free to share what you’d if you feel it will be different, but ultimately this is about what La Russa will put in the scorecard.
February 14, 20215 yr Author Here’s what I think Tony will go with: Anderson, SS Moncada, 3B# Abreu, 1B Jimenez, LF Grandal, C# Robert, CF Vaughn, DH Eaton, RF* Madrigal, 2B
February 14, 20215 yr gonna throw a curve so I can be yelled at. 1. Madrigal/Eaton (R-L SP) 2. Moncada 3. Anderson (last 2 yr slg .508 & .529) 4. Abreu 5. Jimenez 6.Grandal 7. Robert 8. Vaughn 9. Madrigal/Eaton Edited February 14, 20215 yr by Rounding_Third

Vaughn 9. Madrigal/Eaton I think Madrigal bats 9th no matter what, but I do think Eaton is the wild card. I could see La Russa batting him 2nd, but ultimately I’m expecting him to do the right thing to start the season and keep him towards the bottom of the order.
February 14, 20215 yr Anderson 6 Grandal 2 Abreu 3 Jimenez 7 Moncada 5 Robert 8 Eaton 9 Vaughn DH Madrigal 4
February 14, 20215 yr I already gave my answer, but how much would people lose their shit if they went: Eaton, Madrigal, Abreu, Jimenez, Moncada, Anderson, Grandal, Vaughn, Robert I wouldn't like it, but I wouldn't necessarily call it terrible either. We have a good team.

But I do see him improving his BB rate too. I really like Anderson 3rd to take advantage of his slg. Mostly why I went with it. I get the "why mess" too. Eaton has a helluva obp when healthy. Hopefully still has some speed on the bases, too. Just to clear, my Madrigal/Eaton is not uncertainty but rather against L-R SP.

February 14, 20215 yr Unlike the last clown skipper, glad Grandal isn't going to be fixated 2 and 3 all season.

February 15, 20215 yr Vs RHP 1. Anderson 2. Eaton 3. Abreu 4. Grandal 5. Jimenez 6. Moncada 7. Robert 8. Vaughn 9. Madrigal vs LHP 1. Anderson 2. Jimenez 3. Abreu 4. Grandal 5. Robert 6. Moncada 7. Vaughn 8. Engel 9. Madrigal
February 15, 20215 yr I think LaRussa is putting Madrigal and/or Eaton at the top of the order. I get Theriot/Furcal vibes in LaRussa's mind with them. Other than Abreu in the 3 hole, I have 0 clue what he's going to do but I'll take a stab at it. Madrigal/Eaton Eaton/Madrigal Abreu Grandal Eloy Moncada Anderson Robert Vaughn (to ease him in) I hope I'm wrong.

I bet Eaton Bats 2nd though.
February 15, 20215 yr FWIW, Nightengale (who has obviously nailed the entire White Sox offseason) said Eaton will bat at the top of the order
February 15, 20215 yr I'll add that if they bat Eaton 2nd and Moncada 6th (or something like that), they'll look foolish once Moncada is lighting the league on fire

Over the last 2 seasons, 21 of his 28 hr's have been solos. Chances are good that he hits >=25 this year. Would be nice to see him get a chance to hit more with men on.....not that I'm complaining!!! Like to see Abreu protecting him in cleanup, too.
February 15, 20215 yr Trying to think like TLR and I think he goes: Eaton Anderson Abreu Eloy Grandal Robert Moncada Vaughn Madrigal

February 15, 20215 yr If Moncada looks like he is back to precovid form during spring training, you absolutely have to get him 2nd. He is a perfect 2-hole hitter when healthy.
