Got out of it. They are gonna hit Ohtani 2nd time thru. Cease just needs to keep them 3 or less. 

All things considered 2 runs is pretty good for that mess, the weaker bats in the lineup at the back helped. If he gets in trouble to start next inning, 2-3-4 come up, so he's got to find a groove batter 1 of next inning.

30 pitches isn't particularly good.

30 pitches in the first inning for Cease. Almost 30 in the first yesterday for Lynn. Gonna burn the pen early on if this keeps happening.

Yeah, I think it is mental, he never was a super fine command pitcher but yanking sliders wide 3 feet is in the head. 

 

Fortunately just two runs, Sox can make that up but cease needs to stabilize
