Wouldn’t a lineup change indicate there’s some type of physical reason why Mercedes was scratched? The Sox are 15-11. Try to enjoy our good team a little. 

So Mercedes is going to not be in the lineup until Friday.  I doubt he is playing in the field in Cincy.

I think it’s a mandate with Tony that at least 2-3 bench players play in the same lineup majority of the games.

I believe I recall reading that Mercedes had previous disciplinary issues with other organizations so maybe this is a way of setting precedence for him and the team.
