Right. It was either the contact play or a horrible decision by Moncada. Nobody knows for certain.

If the player somehow doesn’t know the signs at that point, then the manager has gone all “Robin Ventura” level of falling asleep.

    Run the contact play!

It just sucks that this team is struggling not because of Burger, Sheets, Hamilton, or even Goodwin and Leury being thrust into every day play.  They’re struggling because of Anderson, Moncada, Abreu,

Here comes another 6-5 loss after coming back.

Banner evening for TLR

Collins has less than zero chance here.

Because with the infield in, if it wasn't,  he would have waited for the ball to go through.

I’m aware of how the contact play works as opposed to what you’re supposed to do when the contact play is not on. It was most likely the contact play, but there’s a chance Yoan just decided to run.

Bingo.

Yeah, Abreu has been the worst Sox hitter recently.

LaRussa letting Cease face Goodwin AND the call for the contact play this inning the story of this game so far.

Moncada can see where the ball is hit.  He’s not going home there without being told to.

2 more innings of the Twins bullpen and White Sox middle relief? I’ll bet this doesn’t end 6-5.

Gordon?

Contact play killed it, all momentum

You are calling out the manager saying Yoan somehow decided that, you just don’t realize it.

Very competitive at-bat there, Zach.

Man on 3rd nobody out and they fuck it up royally.  Brilliant.

There have been some badly managed games this year, this one is in the running for 'worst of the season so far'. Know your lineup, and who is coming up. Contact play there makes zero sense, NONE.

Swing the fucking bat.

The rare Collins strike out looking

Managed to put four on the board and it still feels like a disappointment.

Well, it’s all up to the bullpens now.

Jose really just had to hit a fly ball there. The 3 guys after him weren't going to hit a tough lefty like Rogers. Even if we didn't lose the runner on 3rd, the next 2 guys made no contact.

They probably wouldn't have scored anyway. That lefty is tough on lefties and Billy Hamilton was the hope. Of course he may have bunted.

Kind of amazing the Sox were 33-1 when they scored 5 runs or more. Now this would be three losses in a row if the don’t finish off the comeback. So let’s get this one.

Let’s face it. Even with Eloy out and later Robert, the Sox had enough good pitching and players to overcome Tony’s dumb ass win probability sabotaging strategery.

There aren’t enough players at this point to pick up La Russa’s absurd decisions. He really needs to go.
