Figured I'd start this.

 

Great hitting by Luis and Cesar.  Great outing by Jimmy Lambert.  

Crochet, Tepara, Kimbrel, and Hendriks are nails.

Hendriks finally got his ERA back below 3 after his 2 disastrous outings against the Yankees. 

Congrats to jimmy Lambert on his 1st W.

Nice win. Leury along with the above mentioned heroes. Nice glove by Jose. Enjoy winning a rare game in Oakland. Good to beat some good teams after angering me with so many losses to KC.

Just the right amount of drama and Lambert should have earned another start. Next man up. 

Moncada also had a good game, 3-5 with no RBIs in a game that had 6 runs scored, that's pretty cool ?

 

Imagine being Oakland.  Falling back in the wild card race, and then losing to a SP who isn't even good enough to be an opener.

If Oakland was really close to knocking Houston out of the division lead or the Yankees out of the WC, I'd be throwing Sunday lineups out there against them to try and help them out. Would love to see them in the postseason with this team.

I really liked Lambert’s stuff for a start last night. Obviously, he has to build on it. Come next season, Lambert may have a future on the Sox if he continues to improve… although it may be from the bullpen. Same with Lopez. 

Real good win.  Stinks Houston won but if Cole is out that is a blow to the Yanks.  

They need to address the Vaughn situation as it is becoming crazy how bad he is with men in scoring position.  Stranded 8 yesterday.  Maybe they shut him down when Engel comes back.

It's hard to come back from what they had to endure in Toronto. We were sitting here thinking the Sox bullpen sucked against the Jays, but the A's blew an 8-2 lead with 2 outs in the 8th and then gave up just enough runs to lose despite a rally in the 9th the next day.

Jimmy looked really good last night. Also, I am pretty sure Eloy is the only player who could take a direct shot to the knee while sitting in the dugout. 

Despite Oakland being Oakland,  2 HBP and 1 HBLID ( hit by liner in dugout) and a boatload of runners left on base, there were enough good things going on to overcome it.

> The ribbies. 2 by Goodwin a broken bat single  while facing a lefty after replacing Eloy. Sheets a single off a lefty to drive in a run in the 5th and went 2 for 5. Cesar an oppo single  driving in 2 in the 5th also with 2 hits on the night.

> Robert being Robert : He's done a nice job leading off in place of TA . He went 2 for 6 and made a nice running catch on a ball over his head. He also over ran a single that allowed a run to score.

> Grandal : He was 1 for 3 with a walk that drove in a run.

It takes a team.

In the post game TLR said Abreu was crowing about his defense and telling LaRussa that's why he should never play DH and LaRussa agreed with him and told him, Yea you are never playing DH again... until Thursday !

Yes a face. But a knee is almost impossible. It has to be in Oakland because it is the only place without a railing, and it has to be someone prone to weird injuries.
