October 29, 20214 yr Speaking of weather, I guess it’s a good thing the Twins weren’t actually good this year. If game 6 and 7 was in Minnesota this season, they’d be playing the games in the 30’s. It wouldn’t have been much better here if the Sox advanced. I really hope the next CBA addresses the schedule—as in, the modern game doesn’t need to be 26.5 weeks and 162 games. It’s outdated. Opening day should be the first Monday in April, and World Series should be in the books by October 21st…so the regular season should be done 5 weeks earlier if they’re going to expanded postseason.

Yeah that’s not going to happen. Less revenue overall? Frankly there’s a better chance of the season getting longer than shorter, with additional playoff games added.

With expanded postseason, they may be able to shorten the regular season by total number of games, or scheduled 7-inning doubleheaders. They have to get the postseason going by September 20th or so.

October 30, 20214 yr Have the Astros ever lost a WS game with cold, misty weather? Also, Ian Anderson reminds me so much of Giolito.

Also, Ian Anderson reminds me so much of Giolito. 2005 game 2 started at 51 degrees F and ended at 45. It was listed in the record books as rainy and misty. It was a fascinating game with an unexpected twist against the Astros in the 9th.

October 30, 20214 yr Good game. Anderson is a confident, stud pitcher. Wish he went longer, but can’t argue with the outcome. Go Braves!

The next 2 games get messier for the Braves. Drew Smyly and Kyle Wright, but both of them threw an inning in game 2. Smyly had an of 4.5 this year, Wright had an ERA in the bigs of 9.5.
