Pilkington making the Guardians OD roster on the same day Lynn gets hurt with no depth behind him reinforces what a disaster the trade deadline was

Ugh, so he'll be out at least 8 weeks I'm guessing?

This is really odd. Maybe the same a Grandal from last year. You don't normally see surgery to a tendon only taking 4 weeks. It's obviously not a reconstruction.  Maybe more of a debridement.

Sounds like 6 weeks best case, but 8 sounds more realistic.

Sounds about right

I stressed it all winter, but the only thing that can prevent us from making the playoffs is bad and/or unhealthy starting pitching.  And for the first two months of the season, we’ll be rocking this:

  1. Lucas Giolito
  2. Dylan Cease
  3. Dallas Keuchel*
  4. Michael Kopech
  5. Reynaldo Lopez

Honestly, that’s a potentially bad rotation and all it took was one injury to the big three.  There is no guarantee the rest of these guys will remain healthy while Lynn is out.

Hahn needs to find a starter ASAP or risk letting the other AL Central teams hang around a bit too long.

Sox are shaping up to be this year's Twins. Great offense, can't get anyone out.

Probably going to be Valasquez instead of ReyLo.  Not that that is any better.

Sucks too that the other guy who could've helped cover is out the season (Crochet). Just a bad start with injuries already.

Has to be that f'n plantaris and they are just going to excise it.

$6mm available now - soo... knowing the sox and our need they'll use it on Johnny Cueto

Honestly between getting the procedure and less wear on his arm, maybe this is best for him and a playoff run. Get on a fucking diet thought the next 6 weeks

Every year it’s something injury wise

This one really doesn't have much to do with the weight. That's more a joint issue.

He hasn’t thrown this spring either so won’t really help anything for awhile if they were to go down that route

This happens to every club in the league, almost every year.

The difference is the good organizations have two or three AAA options that have been chomping at the bit for their chance.  We have the same guy who has been given his chance since 2017, this will be his 5th chance.... and literally NOTHING after him.

Our front office has drafted horribly, wasting 1st round pitching picks on relievers and they haven't developed anyone else.  4 years of tanking, hundreds of starts to find a diamond in the rough... nothing.

Yep. Hahn's warts are starting to show. We went after Manea apparently, but needed another legit starter before the injury. Injuries happen to all teams, which is why you have to plan for them the best you can. Lynn and DK are getting older and shouldn't be relied upon to stay healthy.

Man how I wish Wheeler would have signed with us.

Yikes, this pitching is in a horrible state right now

Andrew Vaughn and Nick Madrigal aren't exactly horrible first round draft picks. But...yes the starting pitching in the org is awfully thin. So many injuries to arms.

This popped into my head too.   Recovery for a slight tear in something structural would take much longer, correct?

Edit - posted this before I saw the other tweet mentioning Grandal.  Makes sense.

We are gonna start out in a bad place. Tax our bullpen early unless Hahn makes some kind of move.
