There is no indication whatsoever he'd be an improvement over the current 5. If he was dicing up AAA hitters, he'd be here already.

But the comment from Balta that the reason he's not in the bigs is they're trying to avoid paying him is silly. He's been awful. I think Cueto opts out. He's got 1 start left until 5/15 unless he's willing to pitch on the opt out date. As bas as Keuchel has been, Cueto is a good bet to be worse.
