So if Velazquez is actually good now, do the Sox suddenly have TOO MUCH starting pitching? ?

Hendriks against the middle of the order with a 4 run lead. This honestly doesn't feel that safe.

McGuire has de facto become the starting catcher.  If Yasmani’s gonna DH this much, should they send Mendick down and bring up Perez?

Can already tell he has no control.

Once Lynn is back and Cueto is up...I bet Yaz will catch some more. it's actually a great way to keep him fresh for 2nd half.

Hendriks still struggling with his breakers.

he’s still tipping

idk it’s clear as day when you look for it, brings it up over the top of the mitt on heaters so if the batter sees ball a heater is coming and vice versa

This ump has to be a Sox fan

Few of those sliders would be solid pitches if he wasn’t tipping.

SOX WIN!!!! about damn time.

Needed  a W

Madrigal definitely wouldn't have had that one...

Felt like a must win all the way . luck and uncle Larry shined on the Sox today.

Hendriks needs to stop tipping his pitches. Nobody is swinging at his breaking stuff. He threw 7 breaking pitches today and got 1 swing, no whiffs. You can throw 98 all you want, but if the hitter knows it's coming, it's a lot easier to hit. Every ball hit off Liam today was basically 100+ MPH in EV.

Our old buddy Dane Dunning through 5 vs. ATL  1 run, 2 hits, 0 Walks, 6 K

Good win boys

Not really a test if he can't get a breaking pitch near the strike zone.  But he's fixable.  Katz is the guru, so hope he does his stuff.

Wonder if this is VV at his absolute best or if there’s more to this.

Technically, his best was back in his Phillies debut in 2016, when he struck out 16 and threw 97 MPH:
