Great AB by Abreu. Look at all that leadership.

  • What bothers me about this post is it totally absolves the rest of the FO, training staff, and players.  It's why I sometimes wonder if the La Russa hire was looked at as a good thing by Hahn and

Look if we aren't going to score runs, we can't give away cheap ones.  Even if Moncada keeps hitting like he was prior to his injury, he is still giving top notch defense at 3rd.

We are looking for both kinds of players 1B AND DH

Stone has always been a company man, but he has never carried water to the extent he has this season. He knows this years team is off limits because Jerry handpicked the manager, I guess.

How is it possible to keep hitting high fastballs into the ground?

at least Robert can still crush a hanging slider

He was going up there to take 3 hacks, and then got one hung to him.

Other than that, he has no plan at the plate right now.

Letter high fastballs hit on the ground.....sigh..

our RF doesnt make that catch

With Sheets the ball would have bounced from his glove into the stands.

If the Sox got a division title and a 93 win season, can we really call the rebuild a failure?

I don't think he's ever had a clue at the plate. When his legs are strong, he is talented enough to overcome it

This is as broken as I’ve seen the Sox in a long time.

Robert is going the way of Eloy. Early promise, followed by baseball figuring him out. Lack of plate discipline should be an automatic disqualifier in scouting.

I'm sure continuing to swing at garbage & hitting everything on the ground will start working any day now

Multiple Championships.

The usual boiler plate ground ball to the SS.  No surprise there.

4 innings in the books:

4 groundouts

5 strikeouts

A Menechino Masterpiece!

Whenechino is TLR asleep in the dugout?

He has way more skills than Eloy

Robert can play defense which doesn’t get “figured out”.

Sox killed the ball that inning and couldn’t score

i like how every semi-routing play by the other team is a breath taking defensive display to our announcers.

the vaughn flyball and the grounder from sheets should be gobbled up by any competent defense.

He does, but his plate discipline is just as bad. The major difference between Robert and Eloy is athleticism. At least Robert can play defense.

2nd half last season he was a lot more selective up there and picked a zone and went with it.   And his numbers showed the results.

This season, he's just going up there in hack mode no matter what.

Not sure if he is pressing, but it's a rough watch.

Talking about at the plate.

we are the worst team in the league against sliders

And pretty bad against fastballs too aren't they ?

Crushing the ball straight into the ground is useless
