GT 7/5: MIN @ SOX, The day after

Featured Replies

I'm surprised no one here has tried to organize a game  where Soxtalk members show up and chant all game "Fire Tony" and boo the Sox all game long. Heck you can make it a thing on twitter  and call it Boo the Sox Day.

  • People need to start accepting this team just isn’t good. They’ve given us no reason all year to think it’s a playoff team.   The rebuild is in peril.

  • Reinsdorf needs to sell. He doesn’t give a shit about anything besides trying to win on his own terms.  Him and Tony just need to leave this franchise and go b**** about the status of the game elsewhe

I'm at the lowest point of my fandom as an adult. That's all. A very solipsistic view but one I'm sure is shared by quite a few people around 30-50.

It’s a more fitting soundtrack for this game.

Fire Tony chants not catching on more amongst the fanbase has been very disappointing. If the toxicity around him got cranked up to Nagy/GarPax levels, I do think an in-season change would actually be possible.

How many times does any pitcher go 8 innings in a game anywhere?

Giolito did quite a few times in 2019-20.

Smell those moldy onions and expired bread.

Burn it down

2022?

There have only been 13 complete games all season in MLB this year

VV might not be good.  It’s comical how small the Twins make this field look.

Welp, this is probably the nail in their coffin.

Yup…

You gonna quit moving the goal posts here?

No, I just don't think that TA is a star and I don't think that Cease is an ace.

He's not the same pitcher he was then.

Lopez lights out again but I'm sure Kelly will continue getting high leverage opportunities over him

Where was ReyLo last night in the 10th?  Kelly has been terrible and has a very high ERA. ReyLo has been hot and has not allowed a homer to over 150. Batters in a row.  TLR apparently being guided by reputation with Kelly and not by recent performance by Lopez.

I'm not even talking a CG I'm talking 7 innings.

I can't even remember the last time Cease pitched 7 innings.

Cease is 8th amongst pitchers in fWAR over the last 2 seasons. This year he has a 2.51 ERA and clearly has a chance to win the AL CY. That isn't good enough for you?

Maybe add in some planes with “Fire Tony” banners flying around the stadium during the game.

62 home runs in 78 games

Nope. He doesn't go long enough into starts. Walks too many batters. He's a strong #2.

Remember when Rich Harden was really good? Kinda reminds me of his peak.

Hey the Phillies fired their manager, why can’t the Sox do it as well? Oh no, that’s not possible. We don’t want to hurt TLR’s feelings again.

It's amazing how cancerous Donaldson's effect was...and how getting rid of him completely changed the atmosphere around the Twins'  organization.

(Yet in NY, they can easily get past his presence.)

5 th homer for the Twins, this time against VV.  TLR threw in the towel.  In the meantime, we can’t even hit a homer against AAA pitching tonight. Shameful.

Or Angels.
