You guys are really suggesting a complete house cleaning. I’m on board. I’d hire the Guardians people. It’s just not happening though and is a huge waste of our time. Jerry Reinsdorf has no interest in hiring a new front office.

Well that’s all true and unfortunately the sad reality for us.  And honestly, I wouldn’t trust Jerry to hire a new head baseball guy after the manager debacle with La Russa and his refusal to course correct.  At this point, we just got wait Jerry out and hope when the time comes the team doesn’t transition to his boob of a son.

  • Within 2 years of the cheap talent arriving in the league, which Sox fans had to wait through 3 years of heavy losing for, Hahn has a team with a bottom barrel farm, exhausted budget, and .500 results

  • Rick Hahn doesn’t deserve to be able to sell

Quite clearly McGuire must be sold. There is simply no room for him on this team right now if LaRussa trusts Seby more, and I can’t imagine zero teams need a backup C.

Kim Ng broke in with the White Sox and was highly thought of both here and throughout baseball.

She could be a solid fit, and most certainly the best the Sox can hope for as long as Jerry is Chairman. Kenny can stay on through the rest of his contract (anyone know how long? 2022-23?) in strictly an advisory role.  Hahn can pout on the North Shore.

Miami is on the upswing, and she is doing well with a very limited budget ($79.6M, 26th across The MLB).

I’m selling Pollock, Kelly, and maybe Graveman for cents on the dollar just to move on from those contracts.  If anyone wants Leury too, he’s yours.  They won’t sell off major prices as they should, but at least trim some of the financial mistakes from the margins.

The first two you’re not really selling. Does anyone on the radio get those “sell your broken down car for cash” ads that I get streaming? Both of them have about $15 million remaining on their deals, you will need to pay the large majority of that to move them. They are scrap metal, not workable cars. There’s no one coming up behind either of them who needs that roster spot yet, there is zero reason not to play out the season with them and hope for improvement.

Graveman has been good enough to be worth a decent piece - not a top 100 prospect but someone who could contribute next year. They won’t do it, but that is a guy who they should move.

Thanks for mansplaining the obvious yet again. ????

Then what though? Jeremy Haber as GM with Ken Williams’ tentacles remaining everywhere?

Haber's the second one out the door; then throw out the rest of Hahn's buddies.
KW retiring would help.

Real retooling  = trading Abreu. Beyond that, can't they find a team with their own Burger/Sheets that play OF they can swap them for?

If you don’t want something explained that you understand doesn’t work, then don’t suggest it?

”I think we should drive from Boston to London. How dare you mansplain why this won’t work.”

And his ownership group is making too much money to be unhappy with the results. Why should they care if the fans are disgusted.

They do care about apathy and fans staying home. Attendance is down from full COVID capacity attendance last Summer.

It will likely decrease further in 2023 when they lose a significant portion of fans who purchased 2022 season tickets to lock in 2021 playoff tickets.

Are you 12? I am not interested in feeding into your need to be right.  What part of I don't care to engage with you do you not understand?

Being a Sox fan is like being in a bad relationship.

She’s been a disaster of a GM.  Spent awful money on Avi and Soler.

Seeing the prices that are out there, selling is definitely interesting.  I know they won't, but man you could make some hay just moving some of the bullpen guys.

Obviously,  but if he doesn't,  he will be mired in mediocrity, just like always with these dopes

He’s the biggest dope of all though. Ken Williams and Rick Hahn are much better at their jobs than Reinsdorf’s track record of Sox owner. The fish stinks at the head and there’s nothing we can do

At this point all I am asking is don't trade the young savages.

I've given up on the thought of a legitimate window because it's a pipe dream.

This. Kenny and Rick have to work around Jerry's restraints.

I think Jerry's restraints include spending on the minor leagues, scouts, and sabermetricians.

Jerry wants to do things his way, and his way is stuck in the 1970s.

Signing Leury to a 3 year deal and signing Kelly at all were dumb moves. Unless you want to convince me that JR specifically directed Hahn to sign those guys, Hahn doesn't get entirely off the hook just because the owner is bad. There were much better uses of $13.5 million both this year and next that could have made this team a lot better without going over budget.

Kenny and Rick deserve to be fired as well, don't get me wrong. I'm arguing that their boss doesn't give them the tools do do their job to the best of their ability though.

The two things are not mutually exclusive.

TLR wanted those guys and he outranks the FO.
