He’s been much better than the start of the season, but he is still struggling immensely with RISP. I realize you can’t ask for much out of your 9 hole hitter, but his average skill set becomes exacerbated when the lineup struggles.

Harrison should be a more patient and selective hitter , but is not.  He is too hyper to be patient, that is why he is called Big Energy. By the way he has not been hitting 9 th lately, hit 7 th yesterday.

Agree. The Harrison hate is too much. Does he suck? Yeah kinda, but he's far from our biggest problem. He's been fine for 2+ months now and there's no internal option better. We roll with Harrison for

Bummer or Crick to the 60 day. 40 man roster solved.

I don't even remember what happened to Crick.

Google makes it easier than ever.

It is provided on whitesox.com under "Roster."

Yikes lol

of the 25 qualified SS with at least 350 AB, Andrus is ranked 19 overall, and Anderson is ranked 13 in fWAR. can't really complain about getting a 1.6 fWAR starter for free I guess

Well that was fast.

Looking at his career and his stats the last two years with A's .... Elvis appears to be a wretched hitter. This is a move the Sox didn't need to make. Harrison also is woefully bad. However ... baseball is full of bad hitters and if Elvis is OK on defense which u folks say he is, I guess it's an OK acquisition in trying to win the weak division.

Time flies. I remember when Elvis first started and was the rage. The Sox front office recognizes the loss of Timmy is too much to overcome with the current roster. So they are trying something with Elvis.

Harrison since June 1:

.287 / .342 / .432 / .774 (AVG / OBP / SLG / OPS)
53 hits in 185 AB's

April + May:
.172 / .255 / .263 / .517
17 hits in 99 AB's

To say he's "woefully bad" is to ignore everything from June 1 onward.

He mashes at Progressive field at least. Good time to bring him in.

I saw his name when I was looking at the 40 man the other day and basically had that same reaction, haha.

This is the quintessential example of a stopgap solution. It’s fine and makes sense. Romy and Sosa will get long looks to break camp with the team next year.

Hopefully with a real starter in front of them. The Sox starting to collect middle infielders like DHs

Can Elvis DH?  That could come in handy,

If Reese McGuire can DH, then yes, Elvis Andrus can start at DH if you have the right person making the lineup.

Well, we do have that.

When can we expect the "veteran leadership" press conference from Rick Hahn?

Going to guess Yoan Aybar.

You win! Your prize is that you get to turn today's game off and watch something else.

I did that at 4-0.  Almost to the season finale of season 2 on West Wing now.

One of my parents' favorite shows. I've seen a few episodes here and there.

That’s great and all, but does your fancy internet have driving directions to the closest card catalogue that I can consult to find it on microfilm?

4 pages without a "Kenny always gets his guy" post. Wtf, Soxtalk.

Unless it's a one way to Cleveland I don't think this venture is worth it.

For league minimum its fine. Send Sosa down and keep Romy up for utility role.
