Making him DH will keep him healthy.  Well that thinking lasted all of 5 games.

It’s gotta include firing Hahn

Petition to rename Eloy to Mr Glass

2023 is picking up right where 2022 left off in every single way.  The situational hitting, the bullpen, the injuries.  They should’ve given up on Eloy a while ago but now we’ll have to deal with him on and off the IL every other week for the next 6 months.

When did this even happen?  What a joke

He went out with Moncada the other night and pulled it running away from angry husbands/boyfriends.

Hahaha...you can't make this s%*# up. I thought it was a late April Fool's joke.

Oh well, at least Burger will get his shot to hit almost everyday and not have to play terrible defense.

Doubtful, I am sure Sheets will be in there against most RHP.

This also quickly underscores why the whole "lets trade Gavin Sheets for a bucket of balls" movement on WST as ST came to a close was the dumbest little 48 hour thing.  Gavin was always going to be needed at some point, just happened sooner than we all hoped.

Fegan said it happened running the bases in the 7th on Monday.

I remembered him running awfully hard down the line once with his frail body

Remember when "not playing the OF" was a popular take to keep this guy healthy?

It’s simple math. Keeping Eloy out of the outfield reduces his chances of getting injured substantially. Doesn’t mean he won’t get injured doing other stuff, but it definitely lowers the overall opportunities for him to get hurt. Not really that complicated.

Most of the park had tuned out by then, makes sense we didn't notice.  Same probably goes for those watching at home.

I’ve always wondered if his batting stance could be putting extra stress on muscles in his left hamstring.  It’s such an unnatural pose he does.

It is one of the most uncomfortable humans to watch run, ever.   Spanky LaValliere, Paul Konerko, even the Big Hurt looked so much more athletic when running the bases.

This guy is just weird.

It also makes sure he doesn't injure anyone else.

Thought the same. He should just try to turn into Jermaine Dye.

LOL, it took 5 games.   Lowering the opportunities is irrelevant for this guy.   Yes, that's simple math right there.

How's that "young championship core" Hahn put together working out?

Re-read, I'm not saying keeping him from the OF was a bad idea.  It was a great idea, he's a negative defender.

But the fact that everyone assumed health for this guy just cause they kept the glove away from him it's pretty comical at this point.

That may be the case. It still was wise to remove him from the OF. Eloy is never going to play 150+. Just have to hope to get 120-130 out of him annually at the DH spot.

Dude would break his fibula tying his shoes.

I agree with you here, but Rick Hahn sold us on him as being a huge part of the "Core".   We are down to having him DH only, and being lucky to getting 120 games from him each season.   That's pathetic and so disappointing.
