Still undefeated in June.....

Twas a great game. Just enough offense and just enough pitching .

Seeing how the offense performed hasn't made me stop wanting Burger in there.

Can't consistently win on the road against tough competition without run support.

Liam's first save of the the season, Seby multi HR game, no hit start from Gio, and the longest win streak of the year. Not too bad for a day's work.

Also gained a game on two (potentially all three, pending the 9th inning) teams in the division.

Maybe Moncada needs white shoes.

We need some guts from the manager to sit Vaughn and Eloy on occasion. Burger needs to be playing everyday and we don't want to tire him out so some of that has to be DH.

he needs the white stuff the mets used to use in the 80s.

Randy Vasquez going for the Yanks tomorrow. Smaller rightie with a curveball, so Sox have no chance. Wild pitch offense!

Great pitching but I still get zero satisfaction out of this team.

Offense is still horrible. Giving the pitching staff little to no room for error.

Seby was excellent behind the plate. Bought a ton of calls for Giolito.

Not Soul but  " Are We Not Men ?'

They sweep the yanks....and they might have started the long turnaround. Hopefully they can take this 4 game win streak and turn it into something special.

I'll say the same as I did prior to the Tigers series: if they do sweep, it means the season isn't over. We just have so little margin for error the rest of the way, even in a bad division. We need to go on like a 9 of 11 stretch or something, get to .500, and then just stay healthy and battle it out until October with the rest of the mediocre division.

I'm dreaming but let's go.

Actually Giolito has been very good.

Agreed. It should more of a rotation, where one of Vaughn, Eloy, Sheets, Moncada, Benintendi, or Burger gets the day off every day. Instead it seems like it's just Burger (occasionally Sheets) getting the short end of the stick every time. None of those other guys have done anything this season to warrant being lineup locks over Burger.

The title of the thread says it all.  Those two guys. Also amazingly the Sox gawd-awful April no longer costs them the season. At 4.5 games out that start now means nothing. If they can avoid another losing streak of 4 games or more and can beat Central teams as they've sort of been doing under Pedro, they can win the division. Then in the playoffs anything can happen in this new era. No danger of getting shut out. You always are gonna have a chance going against 4-6 pitchers a game.

Hilarious that this team still has a good chance at success.

If they ever had a chance to steal this series from the Yankees this is it.

Saved Kelly a run with a nice snab on a near wild pitch.
