So the Marlins may have to fly to NY tomorrow night if it isn’t settled. Marlins and Dbacks clinch playoff spots with any win or if the Cubs and Reds both lose one. AL 6-seed: Astros magic number on the Mariners is 2. Mariners magic number on the Astros is 3. Blue Jays clinch the 5-seed with one win, or one loss each by Hou and Sea AL West- Rangers magic number on the Astros is 2. Astros magic number on the Rangers is 3. flavum Posted October 1, 2023 Author Share Posted October 1, 2023 I have an idea of what they can do for the sake of playing until the end with some integrity… Treat the 5 and 6 seeds exactly the same no matter the record, and let the 1-seed choose who the 3 and 4 seeds host and which side of the bracket they want in the Division Series before they play.
