I gotta wonder what the coaches say to him after this at bat.

I believe Grifol looked the other way and said "f*** you, Colas."

Nobody gives a f*** about athletes baby mama drama. I can assure you of that. Flipping off opponent fans is still legitimately hilarious no matter how many times this website tries to make it a thing.

I don't like picking the low hanging fruit here, But you think the baby mama drama and flipping off fans means nothing and apparently by the response  in "likes" you got others agree. But it couldn't

  • What a fall from grace. McG and our Chuck are going to be mad, but it’s seemed pretty apparent TA has been one of the problems the last couple of seasons. I hope he gets his head on straight and gets

Story at CBS Sportsline today say Angels are very interested in TA.

No surprise the California White Sox are interested in him. There are much better places for him to get it together, though.

On the contrary, it's the perfect place for TA, especially with the Angels hiring Ron Washington as manager. Nightengale says they'd move him to second base if they sign him.

I was thinking the same thing.

I wish we had a Trout and an Ohtani.

Not catcher? WTF are they thinking?!?!?!

Yeah, but we'd just waste 'em like the Angels did.

With Washington helping on defense absolutely. I just don't know how good Wash will be at keeping Tim away from distractions.

The guy who managed Josh Hamilton?

I don't hate the guy. He delivered a lot of very good baseball for very little compensation. He may be the greatest bargain in White Sox history.

His life apparently is a mess. Something that people in all walks of life do. His problems sadly are front page news while the corporate mid manager problems are anonymous.

I'll be interested where he signs. The stench of Sox baseball may also hurt his marketing.

If the Sox have a "stench", Tim Anderson, more than any other player, has created that stench. I would say more than any other two players the Sox have or have had. I am soooo glad he is gone.

If Ohtani signs elsewhere, the Angels have to try to trade Trout.

He went to the Angels and fell off a cliff. We'll see which is more impactful - playing for Wash, or playing for the Angels.

Have you looked at his remaining contract and GP the last 2-3 seasons?

$35,450,000 next six seasons...covers ages 33-38.

From MLB.com:

What happened in 2023: Virtually nothing went right for Anderson this past season. With his strikeout and ground-ball rates spiking, Anderson homered only once and hit .245 with a .582 OPS over 123 games. His -2.0 WAR tally was the worst of all MLB position players. As a result, the White Sox declined Anderson’s $14 million club option for 2024, which once seemed like it would be a no-brainer.

Reasons for optimism: Besides the .304 average he posted against left-handed pitchers, there's really nothing we can point to from 2023 that bodes well for Anderson moving forward. The best case we can make for a possible rebound is that Anderson is only 30 years old and put up a sterling .318/.347/.474 slash with 51 homers and 53 steals in 374 games across 2019-22, hitting over .300 in every season during that span. The underlying metrics were also promising as recently as 2022 -- he ranked in the 99th percentile with a .297 expected batting average, the 86th percentile with a 37.5% sweet-spot rate and the 84th percentile with a 15.7% strikeout rate. Additionally, the longtime shortstop is reportedly willing to move to second base if needed, which could allow him to improve his defensive value. It worked for Marcus Semien, who has gone from being a poorly rated shortstop to one of the best fielding second basemen in the game since making the switch.

Prediction:  Ex-Sox products will record an fWAR at least 5x higher than the 2024 White Sox production level…

I have no idea why he and clevinger were not moved at the deadline.

Because TA was awful and worthless.

I was told we were going to pick up his option and that it was just a down year.

No one picked up Clevinger when he was completely free on waivers at the end of August. He wasn’t moved because teams would rather lose the pennant than acquire him.

This isn't true at all. If he were free, he would've been picked up. The claiming team would've had to pay the $4 million buyout.

And zero prospect return for a guy who was pitching excellent at the time. Is $5 million a month somehow ridiculous for a pitcher these days? Naw, you’d have been a fool to turn that down if you needed pitching and there were no personal issues.

The Dodgers took on $10 million for the guy with the worst ERA in baseball and an injured reliever and gave up a top 10 prospect in their system. But $5.5 million for Clevinger? They can’t afford that, they would lose too much money if their fans in the outfield got fewer souvenirs.

Some team should have claimed Clevinger for free. Potential post season run would pay for his salary and buyout.

but I get why teams wouldn’t want him. Just keep a 1 year, like $5M offer on the table to him all off-season. Hell, even less maybe. God knows we need the arms.
