Definitely feels like the opposite is going to happen.  Vegas thinks we’re trading up to 5 to get Jeanty.

Yeah - was going to say. Feels like we are moving up for Jeanty or maybe it’s a linemen they want. Presume Jeanty.

10. Chicago Bears

Yates' pick prediction: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

After the Bears acquired three starting offensive linemen in free agency, their draft board opened up. They could go back to the OL well and keep adding. They could draft a pass rusher. Or they could take the best player available. This pick would fall into the final category, as Warren is my seventh-ranked prospect. People I've spoken to around the NFL are already imagining the creative offensive wrinkles new coach Ben Johnson could think up for Warren, who is terrific with the football in his hands.

Kiper's notes: This is a fun pick. If Warren is there, I'm betting Chicago will jump at the opportunity to draft him. But don't discount Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams or even Graham if he's still available. I've also heard the Bears would like to trade down if the right player isn't there for them at No. 10.

Damn there goes Jeanty.  Gonna hate it if they get a TE

That's looking more likely now, rather they shore up the OL or get an edge rusher

I don't like it. They should have traded up to get one of the linemen before they came off the board. I knew Jeanty wasn't going to happen. They never draft linemen high. People seem to prefer the PSU TE, I don't blame them.

Braxton Jones can’t be the left tackle going into this year. They have to address the lines!

If I’m a Bears fan I wouldn’t necessarily love drafting a TE at 10(would have hated a rb though) but if TE was the play I’d trust Ben as far as grading Loveland over Warren.  Obviously we’ll see but that’s just how I see it.

I saw there were some takes that the Bears could take Hampton at 10 if Jeanty went before. I almost wished they did that instead of drafting Loveland.

Think this is well said. We also don't know what trade down options they had to play with, and if Bears fans are going to be all in on Ben Johnson right now, it certainly seemed like he had a heavy influencer on this pick...so I'll roll with him (for now at least)

We all know Poles wouldn't take a guy with a RAS below 9 in the first.

I keep seeing this cited, but LaPorta is just another example as to why you shouldn't invest tier 1 picks on TE's. Sam was the 34th pick in the draft.

Paying a premium for a TE when you're already paying a tight end is wild
