9/26 Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1:10PM - final home game

Screw these guys - they get booed once and decide to try.

Maybe do this all year and not be on the precipice of the worst record of all time?

  • Flexen was signed to be the 5th starter on a bad team. Ends with a 4.95 ERA.  Have to say that he did his job.

He was cheap and ate innings. And under control for 2 years. I don’t think it’s a failed signing at all. Much better signing than Clevinger, who never really ate innings in his career.

  • The fact that the Sox did this for Flexen will get around the other MLB clubhouses. That can pay dividends down the line.

Wonder what Carson Fulmer is thinking now lol?

Would he be willing to throw more gasoline onto the Sox fire?

Biggest run scoring inning of season by far.

Everyone but Robinson and Amaya have scored…two worst hitters.

4 straight RBI hits by the Sox ends with a Chucky K

White Sox players and Sizemore simply decided to not let the record be broken to jeers at home against them.

First five game winning streak at home in two years, potentially.

Mini version of Major League 3 heading into weekend.  Winning to spite fans, GM, owner, Grifol.  Haters, lol.

Skubal now likely scratched for Detroit Sunday…and why oh why didn’t we draft five tooler Riley Greene???

6-0 lead.  Crazy.

Jack López decided the Sox weren’t going to break the record.  Lost the Angels game 1 by not catching a routine pop up and this game would be 0-0 if he could field today.

Helps that this  is legitimately a minor league roster the Angels are playing minus Ward, O’Hoppe and Neto (who is now hurt).

But Fletcher gets his 2nd hit of the inning for an RBI to make it 7-0.

Vargas pops out to record his 2nd out of the inning. Still 7 run inning is biggest of the year.

I hope Crochet is pitching tomorrow. I also hope they bring up Schultz to pitch the last 4 innings for his MLB debut.

F#$k the record.

It’s really annoying that JR gets to dodge the embarrassment of it happening at home, all while collecting an unexpected amount of $ from these relatively large crowds.

I turn away and suddenly the Sox have their greatest inning all season?

How in the world did this Angels team win 63 games?

lol what. What’s the correlation between under 4 eras and Japanese pitchers?

It’s the delivery. And the delivery sacrifices velocity and it wasn’t fooling the Sox players. If Lenyn Sosa isn’t falling for it, will any other mlb player?

Sosa has been hot the past month.

Missing the point. This guy got lit up and I feel like even I could’ve made contact. The delivery is objectively weird.

At least Flexen has saved the minor leaguers from being further overexposed and one of the few earning his contract legitimately…takes the ball every start and battles his butt off.

If Flex can go another inning without a run his ERA for the year should end up under 5. It's 5.02 now. He's probably done but maybe they're aware and will let him try.

To be fair, if Jack López wasn’t a colossal joke he would have given up zero runs through 5.

Like when mlb figured out to lay off Shingo Takatsu frisbee and wait for 88-90 fastballs behind in count…

And would have lost on Tuesday.

But have to feel good for Grady and team for showing up and not just giving up completely.

Still fighting to get to 40 wins.

Sunday with Skubal scratched best shot or Crochet tmrw for 4 against TBA.

Yep.  Freaking Angels playing a career minor leaguer who has never even been good in the minors.

My app said his ERA was under 5 to start the inning.

I know he ain't the greatest, but Chris Flexen earned his dough this year. Sure, his fastball can

be clocked with a sundial. He did take the ball 30+ times and never bitched about the stiffs

we put behind him though.

How does Moniak ever make contact with that swing?

Flexen out having got 1 out and ERAs now at 4.95 but maintaining it is up to the relief pitcher since the 2 runners on are Flexen's if they score.

Good job by Varland getting the 2 outs. Flexen stays under 5.00 ERA and in line for his 1st win in a long time.
