December 9, 20241 yr Outman has already used up at least two years of control, right? So a player who declined in 2024 and nearing arbitration...and Lux has just a couple of years left. Might as well force Fletcher into CF where he's not a plus defender. But we like taking scraps from other teams such as the Braves or LAD and calling it an improvement.

Add in 2 years of control for Lux and it would be very difficult to understand why Getz would make such a trade. It would basically be a sign that Getz is just trying to build a mediocre lineup, not build up toward any sort of contender. These guys match up well with acquisitions like Fletcher and Vargas.
