December 11, 20241 yr It goes under the radar because very few people actually care about the MLB draft, but the lottery system they’ve put in place has to be 1 of the dumber things in all of sports. Establish a salary cap floor and fine owners for being non competitive for too long if you truly care. Instead they just made it harder for the team to get better. Jerry is probably happy he saves $ not having to pay the #1 pick. He doesn’t give a damn where the team drafts, the rule is meaningless to him and the handful of other terrible owners.
