  • I will go to the grave believing if Andrew Vaughn was drafted and developed by a better organization, he's a totally different, and better MLB hitter than he is today. What a waste.

  • Andrew Vaughn has played in 562 games and has a career bWAR of 1.1 He is not, and has proven he wont be, fine.

Seems like a lot for a complete bum.

Josh Bell just signed for $6M, and Vaughn was a "league average" OPS+ last season. Bell is essentially the same hitter as Vaughn.

Ick

For a team crying poor, this is a gigantic waste.

My Dad worked as a dock hand most of his adult life and he told me he once had a boss who said "No one, and I mean no one is worth $5 a hour."

Life is funny.

His boss sucks.

So, we’re up to $14.35M between Rojas, Vaughn, and Perez. That’s about one year of Ha-Seong Kim. Personally, I’d rather have Kim than those three and give Vargas/Elko a look at 1b.

Yes, big time!!!

Let's hope he gets off to a better start than last year.  If so, he'll be fine.

Way way overpaid for a pathetic career WAR guy. Should have cut bait.

And I wouldn’t give Bell $6 million either.

It's only 1yr/$5.8M.  If he has another below avg season he's an easy non-tender next year and they upgrade the position when they will actually have some money to spend.  If he goes out and has an above avg season he's an easy tender and possible trade candidate.  This is a no brainer move.

Four straight years of being the same player.  He is who he is.

This might be his biggest payday. Hope he's saving his pennies. 1B with below average D and warning track power aren't in high demand.

They don't have the money now? Their payroll is like $70M.

They always “have” the money. But they are not willing to spend it this year.

The amount of high profile busts from the last rebuild is truly incredible.
