New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab

“One of the challenges we had coming out of having our first Southside City Connect jersey was how could you ever match it or top it,” White Sox Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Brooks Boyer said. “One of the thoughts that was pushed right away was that no one has ever done a collaboration between a Major League Baseball team and an NBA team. In a market like Chicago with a history of both teams, how great would it be to be able to collaborate with our partners in the Bulls, along with Nike and Fanatics, to do something that is unique and very different.”

Both the White Sox and Bulls have specific elements throughout the uniform. The black and red colorway pays tribute to both franchises, and the pinstripes on the jersey serve as visual lineage to the Bulls’ iconic years in the 90’s and the White Sox history. The most subtle detail in the uniform comes in the neckline area, which includes all nine championships that both franchises have won in their histories. All three White Sox World Championships (1906, 1917, and 2005) are in white, and all six Bulls Championships (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998) are in red.

Also, only team with TWO game caps, lol (more sales/revenues, yay!!!)

I was thinking this had Brooks Boyer written all over it, and there you go.  He's terrible.  Just terrible.

You know JR had to just LOVE the idea lol?  The Bulls? The Bears? Together?  Oh...the White Sox.

Ditka vs. The Hurricane coming up next.

Or a milkshake.

Or Schiffren...only in the sense of what will he say or do next to make the national sports/broadcasting news?

He's like a MUCH less fun version of Bill Walton, who was winking at the audience and having so much fun riffing.

The Southside jerseys were so good. This one sucks.

I feel the same way...BUT...all 3 of my boys already talked me into ordering some of the new stuff.  I have a feeling this new look would sell big-time!  I am glad we are keeping the Southside uniform in the rotation as it ranks up there with the best!

  • Quin changed the title to New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab

I don’t care what you guys think, those jerseys are Miami.  I like them.

I was very down on the padres and Boston Red Sox and then I realized baseball is fun, and it should be fun, and these jerseys are one offs.

however, all above opinions are null and void when it comes to the white sox

Marlins unveiled their City Connect and it's also a massive downgrade / is taking a big nod from the Heat's Vice jerseys.

Nike is out here committing baseball terrorism.

Those are great too. The hat is going to sell like crazy.

I don't think it's bad, but I do think it's still a big downgrade from the Sugar Kings.

Right now of the new City Connects 2.0 I'd say Miami, DC, the Sox and Rockies are all downgrades.

Dbacks and Boston leaked jerseys are equal.

Giants and Dodgers are upgrades.

Edit: We know the Sox are keeping Southside and the Red Sox are keeping the Marathons. Are any other teams holding onto their original City Connects?

Sadly, the Nats retired the Cherry Blossoms.

29. White Sox (previously: 29)
Your mileage may vary, but for my money, the White Sox’s City Connect jerseys, which are a collaboration with the Chicago Bulls, might be my absolute favorite City Connect jerseys in all of baseball. This '90s kid is hearing The Alan Parsons Project every time the White Sox run on the field in those.

tbh, sprinkling in some Sirius here and there on City Connect days wouldn't be the worst idea

I was at the games over the weekend and at  the team stores and Grandstand.  They  were crowded with  fans looking at the new City Connect apparel.  From what I saw  people were 't buying alot of the new stuff. The new jerseys are  nice but it looks too much like a Bulls jersey. I also think the previous City Connect jerseys are better looking than the new ones. I would think that most fans would rather have old ones instead of the new ones. I'm guessing that the new numerous City Connect hats will be more popular than the new jerseys. I don't know if they release the merchandise sale results but I don't think the new City Connect items will be as popular as the old ones.

I was slightly negative on the jerseys before seeing the hats and finished product on the players, now I'm slightly positive. I agree the hat will be a big seller, it just has a nice design to it that's unique and nostalgia tinted at the same time.

Bought one of the hats when I was there this weekend. I agree that it doesn't replace the old one but a nice variant to have.

The 1.0 is definitely perfection. I hope it is true that they bring that back into rotation as is noted a couple of places on the web.

I didn't like the 2.0 from the leak, but it is still nice.  The logos that came from this one are great. Got a hoodie, as I figured I have something to rock for Bulls games now that's still Sox-related, ha. I usually am wearing the City Connect hockey jersey from 2022 giveaway to any Hawks/Wolves game I make it to.
