For a guy that was picked that high that got to the majors so quickly and then basically put up a zero WAR for like 5 years?  I can’t think of many others that got the shot he did and was so ineffective.

Vargas hasn’t adjusted to that outside fastball at all. 
 

He’s now at 19-169 in his Sox career. Good for a .112 average.   Could Fedde hit better?
