Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

Honestly wonder if what Vaughn is doing in Milwaukee helps the case of Robert. Maybe getting out of Chicago cures all?

Of course it does

Poor Getz has to sell his own ineptitude to get Robert sold high.

So does anyone know why Ryan Fuller couldn’t fix Vaughn, Robert, Benintendi, Vargas, et al.?

Asking for a friend.

I can’t wait to move on from this guy. One of the last remnants from the last rebuild.

How many of the most recent division-winning team remain.  It's sad that they dwindled down so soon.

The last 83er was Fisk, who stayed till 93.  The last 93er was Hurt, who stayed till 2005.  The last 2000 and 2005 player was Paulie, right.  I think the last 2008 member was alexei ramirez.

For a guy that was preaching about small sample size for Vargas, are you already saying Vaughn is fixed?

No, not at all.  I am talking about when Vaughn was with the Sox, just like the other three guys.

He’s saying why couldn’t he fix Vaughn. Has nothing to do with whatever he’s doing in Milwaukee.

Thus, I need your most extroverted prospect."

Being traded to the white sox is known to rapidly deplete one’s serotonin.

Do you have guys we don't have to work on?  We aren't very good there.

Just imagine Getz - other gm - what’s wrong? Oh let me tell you what we do for these players…other gm shakes head, well, I guess we should up our offer - Sox having been telling him to choke up as part of their advanced analytics program….

Signing as a non dumpster dive FA does that too but maybe that is on the Sox scouting

Right? It's 15 at bats. I wouldn't rule out AV being an average hitter again, but the guy isn't suddenly Hank Aaron because he switched jerseys. He was pretty brutal at AAA Nashville too.

He's been here 6 months, he doesn't have his own major league pitching coach, and I would assume he's focusing his work in the minors.

I do suspect some of these vets (primarily Robert)  are casualties of the new approach).  There will be some free swingers who are good players and they'll have to figure out how to get the best out of them.

The point wasn’t that he was “fixed” in Milwaukee FWIW. It was that Fuller couldn’t fix him. This was gone over yesterday or earlier or whenever. Time has blended together since having a kid a year ago.

AJ hung in there a long time, too.

I'm sure a lot of it is simply the losing. That makes it hard to stay sharp. I had a really good paying job

that I quit once because I hated it there. Losing 80% of the time probably makes many guys hate coming

to the park every day. Say what you want about personal pride and professionalism. Losing affects evey one

differently.

I've had a lot of former Sox players tell me how hard it is to be positive and even 'enjoy' coming to the park when you just know you are probably going to lose.

I bet the Royals would trade the Sox Massey and two of their better pitching prospects for Robert. But we don't trade with teams in our division. Maybe that's a Jerry thing if Jerry still cares about the team at all. Helping one's divisional rival or the Cubs used to be a no-no, prolly still is.

I betcha we keep Robert cause nobody is gonna offer enough.

That sort of negativity is hard to break and would certainly need an inspiring manager, something the White Sox haven't had recently.

Can you name names.  That's heartbreaking to hear.  I always see Comiskey as a happy place, win or lose.  It's surprising to hear that players can get so bummed despite being part of such a legacy organisation.

That wasn’t my point at all and I already responded to @PaleAleSox who had the same comment prior to yours.  @Bob Sacamano gets it…

Fun fact

Andrew Vaughn has more bWAR in 16 PA (0.5) for the Brewers than he did in his entire White Sox career (-0.5)
