Falstaff
Robert 6'2" 225, built like a Greek God, elite athlete, runs like a deer, howitzer for an arm. Naylor 5'10" 235, fat, slow, jersey covered with mustard stains. Naylor please.

I’m sure this just the BS that Venable been asked to feed the press. This was my thought too. But then someone else made another good point that it wouldn’t make sense to put an injury out there given his history. Who knows. Either way I don’t think he will be here for much longer.

That would be my best "guess" as well. However, I doubt we will get anything exciting. Hope I'm wrong. Before I take a minimal return, I would try to strike a deal, as I have said. Just say "he is out of the lineup tonight" and let teams think what they want.

Regime was the wrong word I suppose. Should have just said players.

Which makes me believe there is nothing close otherwise he’s just out of the lineup. There is no reason to lie about an injury in this situation. Some of that is terrible Sox pitching over the past half decade, but it's clear the dude loves to rake on the South Side. Give him a 3 year deal this offseason! But the Sox would probably be stupid to trade Taylor unless it was for a top position player prospect. Taylor will probably be a successful closer for a few years until he flames out, but I’d take a nice bat prospect for that.

Just throwing this out as a hypothetical, if NYM said you can have one of Benge or Jett for Taylor or if PHI offered Crawford for him...how many would agree to it? Yup. Especially since I don't feel like the Sox want to develop him as a starter.
