Let’s extend the guy who has trade interest, pretty bad for the past 2 years, and often injured.

Yeah...it will be better to get next to nothing for him and then b**** about how dumb Getz is when he rebounds.

Robert 6'2" 225, built like a Greek God, elite athlete, runs like a deer, howitzer for an arm.

Naylor 5'10" 235, fat, slow, jersey covered with mustard stains.

Naylor please.

I mean, they aren’t going to come out and say they’re close on a trade and they are sitting him.  I’m sure this just the BS that Venable been asked to feed the press.

This was my thought too. But then someone else made another good point that it wouldn’t make sense to put an injury out there given his history. Who knows. Either way I don’t think he will be here for much longer.

He will be traded.  No one knows how good or bad the return will be.  It is what it is.

That would be my best "guess" as well.  However, I doubt we will get anything exciting.  Hope I'm wrong.  Before I take a minimal return, I would try to strike a deal, as I have said.

Glad it sounds minor, but potential suitors just got a little more leverage.

Yep. Insane to announce this publicly. Just say "he is out of the lineup tonight" and let teams think what they want.

Which makes me believe there is nothing close otherwise he’s just out of the lineup. There is no reason to lie about an injury in this situation.

Sox should go after Naylor as a free agent in the offseason. Dude has a career OPS over 1000 while batting at the Rate. Some of that is terrible Sox pitching over the past half decade, but it's clear the dude loves to rake on the South Side. Give him a 3 year deal this offseason!

Rosenthal mentions Philles and Padres, and that Robert should be dealt soon. also says teams bug us for Grant Taylor

Good.   But the Sox would probably be stupid to trade Taylor unless it was for a top position player prospect.  Taylor will probably be a successful closer for a few years until he flames out, but I’d take a nice bat prospect for that.

Just throwing this out as a hypothetical, if NYM said you can have one of Benge or Jett for Taylor or if PHI offered Crawford for him...how many would agree to it?

I feel like if teams are going nuts over Taylor, maybe he's worth a package.

Yup. Especially since I don't feel like the Sox want to develop him as a starter.
