I bet they pivoted to Mullins cause Getz was dicking around with stupid demands.

no way to even surmise that until we see what another team gave up

Seen more online other GMs are trying to take advantage of Getz cause he's new and doesn't have experience. Lowball offers to him for players

That's probably also happening too....at some point the clock forces both sides to get real if you really want someone.

Given the relief prices out there, I'd be most disappointed to hear the Sox didn't entertain talks on Taylor (especially if they have him as a Pen arm, which it seems like to me they do).

If anyone asked, I'm sure we'd entertain talks on anybody (at least I'd sure hope so).  It's not like we have untouchables.

Wouldn't you rather Getz ask for the moon, and settle later if no one meets the price, as opposed to just taking a garbage offer? I don't really get why any Sox fan would have a problem with the approach he is taking.

Because the longer you hold out trying to get your unrealistic demands accepted, teams move on to other players that other GM’s are actually willing to part with for something realistic.  Then you wind up with your hand holding your schvonce.

I think the criticism is they asked for the moon and the other team went somewhere else and never came back, although this hasn't been proven to be true yet.

No, because Robert is FAR more likely to be bad than good or hurt himself next season. His track record is terrible. Get what you can and move on, they already gambled this year he would bounce back he fell flat on his face.

Idle thought: seems that the Getz administration does not do much leaking

I don't know, we probably leaked that we're increasingly likely to hold Robert to try to build some leverage here in the next couple hours.

Rosenthal just said on Foul Territory he expects Robert to be dealt and essentially thinks the sox are posturing by saying they'll pick up Robert's option
