Those guys mostly fell off due to health…Robert’s elite tools are still very much present.

They might be present but he isn't showing them consistently this season or last.

Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

Speaking of Anderson he was recently DFA'd by the Angels.

And released.

The way he is running?  I doubt it.

Not sure about that, but the elite power and speed is still there.  His issues are theoretically fixable…obviously we will have to wait and see.

At this point you’re on the same level as a flat earther…how much evidence do you need to see before you accept reality? It’s over for Robert

I would like to apologize to @JUSTgottaBELIEVE.  Robert is a fucking headcase and despite having all the tools and taking some steps in the right direction, he can’t seem to put it altogether.  I remain adamant that as soon as we trade him, the other org will immediately figure out how to fix him and reap the rewards of a massive buy low.  But alas, that won’t help us now in terms of trade value.

It’s all good. I’ve had very little faith in Robert this season because I didn’t like what I was seeing. And it started last season. He’s definitely not the same hitter he was in 2023 regardless of what the advanced analytics may or may not say. It’s unfortunate but he’s going the way of Moncada - option declined and buyout after this season.

The irony is that both Mike Tauchman and Michael Taylor have more trade value than Robert (admittedly, minimal value nonetheless). That’s something I didn’t expect to type 4 months ago.

I blame the underlying metrics.

Maybe he's intimidated by having too many actual outfielders on the roster now.

Throw some first basemen and utility guys in the corners for a few games and see if it gets him going.

I often wonder if it would be different if Hinch was the manager.

It just seems the TLR/Grifol era was toxic.

Bringing in Tony completely killed the entire thing. Look how much fun they were having the year before. He sucked the life out of them by the ASB.

Can't help but wonder what the White Sox are going to do with Robert Jr. He looks like he couldn't hit me.I know he can't be sent down to the minors without his permission. Maybe he might agree to that. All I know is he doesn't look like a MLB hitter anymore.

I think as soon as he gets to a different organization be it by the trade deadline this year or next year after the Sox decline his option, he'll be better. Mentally he has got to be in a bad place after the injuries and the dysfunction in this organization. And he needs to go somewhere, where he will be held accountable for things like training and conditioning since part of his issue appears to be of his own making.

Grifol made it worse. Before managing a game he point out problems from his other 100 loss team from the dugout.  He was a kiss ass and that's what appealed to Jerry.  People forget Getz also push for him.  Getz has the bad Royal envy and so far it is working.   You don't get better getting people from losing organizations.

He really doesn't want to be traded.

This has been said about every player that has left here. All of them remained bad.

TLR won 93 and was around .500 in 2022 when he stepped away.

Grifol earned his own era.

You may be correct, which says a lot about the organization in the first place doesn't it?

They signed/drafted/developed all of these guys.

How about a stint down in Charlotte for Robert, maybe it will be a wake up call.

Nah, it happened before that, when they failed to/didn’t intend to sign Harper.  LaRussa was just the undertaker putting the nails in the coffin.

We were on a pretty good upswing before he got here.  Once he got here it was good for the first half of the first season, but even then it was fraying.

No doubt, it was JR’s worst move in a list of many many during his pathetic ownership.

The problem is he is still there.
