Anyone who thinks Tony LaRussa brought anything positive to this organization this time around is truly derranged.

  • I may be in the minority but I have no issue with them keeping Luis. They have nothing committed to payroll next year and no one knocking at the door to be an every day CFer. Also, I would consider ke

  • Oh no. Chris Getz maybe asked for a desirable target in trade negotiations. It's truly unfortunate dialogue ends completely after one player is inquired about.

I mean this is why. They traded junk for him.

There ya go

Does anyone really think the Sox will pick up Robert's option if JR isn't convinced he's almost guaranteed to be a $30 million player next season?

Rental hitters have very minimal value it seems

That's their #14 and #30 prospect in their system just FYI.

Return for Mullins seems quite light

Sox are screwed

How?

Yeah, just keep Robert at this point.  These returns for outfielders have been less than desirable.

They have got to move Robert (assuming decent offers).  Holding him to pick up an option is a bad plan.

Frankly, not trading Tauchman for the good of the clubhouse is questionable too.   We'll see how positive and happy he is to be on this team for another round.

And why are Houser, Civale and the entire pen still in town?

Okay, still 2 hours left; I can get off the ledge.....

Phillies and Mets are out. Robert is staying.

Robert should have been traded back when they dealt Cease. Was moronic not to do it back then. Getz and company just keep waiting for that perfect offer that is never going to come..

Pipeline #14, #30, and an unranked reliever....

Yeah, just run it back.

So we are just relying on Robert to stay healthy and productive then. What a novel fucking concept.

s%*# Getz got a better deal for Slater lol

Yea. I'm good not trading Luis for that return. Yuck.

Tauchman lives here with a newborn that needs extra care. Really doubt he wants to go elsewhere.

sox about to take a minimum $27m gamble on robert lmao

with mullins return I doubt getz got any serious offers from the mets

Houser has to go, but it's not exactly shocking that no relief pitcher has been traded. They're all bad and mostly rather short on talent. Few if any are pending FA. No urgency, no value. Grant Taylor obviously an exception on the value/talent part, but would be a weird time to trade him as well.

Yes, I’d rather that than a bad return

That return is getting rid of him to get rid of him.

At a minimum, Robert will cost the rest of his $15 million salary for this year along with a $2 million to get rid of via his 2026 buyout after this season.

Or, you have to guarantee Robert $22 million ($20 million option + $2 million buyout for 2027) to bring him back for next season.

Nope. They will let him walk most likely and no one except die hard Sox fans will notice or care cause it will the heart of football season.

With what teams got for Bader and Mullins, there was probably quite a few phones hung up on both sides.  There's likely no way the Sox got any decent offers for Robert.

Seriously the return for Slater was better than the return for Mullins.

They will leak stories about catastrophic financial losses.
