It reeked of a bad GM trying to rapidly improve a roster and did absolutely nothing to improve the future of this disaster.

I always laughed when one poster tried to hype the Bummer trade cuz of Shuster as the return. Bummer is still better than all the bums Getz got in that trade. I always laugh when someone makes up things to crow about during losses. * Michael Soroka signed a $9M contract with the Nats based on his bullpen work with the Sox last year. He's 27, Bummer's 31. By your own definition, that alone makes Soroka more valuable than Bummer. * Nicky Lopez is a utility infielder for the Cubs. By your own definition, that makes him a very valuable player. * Braden Shewmake was taken off waivers by the Yankees, and is still on their 40-man. By your own definition, that makes him a very valuable player. Riley Gowens is a starting pitching prospect who could end the season at AAA. Shuster was another arm they took a shot on. Some come through, others don't.
Capn12
Damn, a Renfroe hit away from making money off of this terrible team. And of course, he's the only starter that doesn't get a hit.

greg775
So Game Four after getting flogged the first three games, the Sox lose 10-0. Congrats to the new skipper on arguably one of the most embarrassing series during these last 3 pathetic seasons. Six hits? KU got 17? How embarrassing. So KC starts the series 19-16. Now they are skating along at 23-16. I tell you the Sox, despite my takes that the team is improved from last year, still needs to be contracted from the league. It's not fair to have this minor league team affecting the wildcard races. Sox manager should apologize to somebody for today's 10-0 rout. So Robert loafs us into a loss last night and team gets thoroughly annihilated today. Very sad. If I were a gambler I'd have lost a ton of money on this series as I thought the Sox would win 3 or 4 as my take was KC could not get up for this wretched opponent. greg775
To the Ozzie haters out there. If he were our manager the last 3 years it at least woulda been entertaining. He would not calmly take these embarrassing defeats. He'd be all over the highlights kicking butt and turning over postgame food spreads and ripping those who loaf on the team on a nightly basis. ... But no, we can't hire Ozzie. He quit on the team that one year.

Tomtom
4 runs in four games, including two shutouts, but no, they can’t use a red hot Tim Elko in the lineup! The Sox brass are a bunch of schmucks. Put it in the book, 0-13 vs KC this year! Edited May 8 by Tomtom

Normally I would agree, except he just made a post about how Getz’s Bummer trade was good because three of the bums he got back in the trade (Soroka, Lopez, and Shewmake) are now on other rosters… even though they are still bums. Just to be on the record about this, I didn't want Vaughn to make the club. The bullpen is what it is. If I were GM, I would promote Elko and Fletcher, cutting Maton and Palacios. When Workman comes off the IL, cut Amaya, and trade Thaiss when Lee comes back. Adisyn Coffey and drop Shuster. I think a lot of people mistake me understanding the reasoning behind a move or non-move as support. I want Vaughn, Palacios, Maton and Amaya as gone as everyone else. I'm not going to make up wild conspiracy theories about why they're being kept on the team. 1
Tomtom
I was watching the Yankees-Padres series this week (I live in NY State) and thought it was interesting that the Yankee announcer, when referring to ex-Sox players Gavin Sheets and Dylan Cease, said they “escaped” the White Sox, not just came over from the Sox. Kind of tells you what other organizations think of this team.
