2025-26 NFL Season Thread

I can’t get over how nice that catch and throw were and I’m hoping one thing that comes from Rome going down is it helped get DJ and Caleb in a better place and when everyone gets back, we see another step forward. Caleb still has plenty of warts but even with those warts he’s already pretty good looking and these warts are treatable…he’s going to be a superstar if he keeps putting in the work and partnering with this coaching staff.

I think he was injured on that illegal hit in Q1 that was nasty.  Guy is a gamer.  Burden is showing he can't stay on the field and Rome I am not fully sold on.

Isn’t this Burden’s first injury?

I know that the team is more than just the players, but I wish Poles and Warren didn’t have to be there. Especially with the s%*# Warren pulled this past week. I still hope they end up in Arlington Heights instead of Gary, but even Fox did a special story on Gary’s development and opportunity with adding the Bears.

One other question on my mind. Is losing the Bears tax revenue significant to Illinois? Seems like they should play ball on the infrastructure and come up with a fair property tax deal.

I don’t really mind Poles being there, but Warren can GTFO.

Poles looks like he's taking it in. Warren oozes pick-me energy.

Also, after Warren's Indiana bullshit, love Jaylon changing up Tremaine's "if you don't know, now you know" to "they KNOW. It's Chicago."

Zero clue why they’d act like he had a TD when he was ran back 5 yards but I’ll take the playoffs!!!!

They were saying the flip to Goff was the touchdown I think.  Because yea he came nowhere near crossing the pylon.  It was a truly brutal referee explanation to end a game 😂

They did say Goff scored a touchdown but that was negated by the offensive pass interference ending the game.

It was crazy that they didn’t rule forward progress was stopped on that play. That would have been an even crazier ending than the Seahawks / Bears games had there not been a penalty on Lions

It definitely felt like the refs didn't know wtf happened. The ruling on the field definitely should not have been a TD. If anything that just riled up that crowd up for disappointment.

Making the playoffs for this team is an amazing achievement after starting 0-2.

I think we all know anything beyond this is house money for this team as they are far exceeding expectations. But in the NFL, you need to take advantage of every opportunity regardless of what people thought of you prior to the season. Because things can unravel fast.

I think we need to take a look at what happened with the Lions and Commanders recently. Washington and Detroit both made the NFC Championship game ahead of schedule but neither will be in the playoffs this year while both are in the middle of their competitive windows.

It's not going to be the end of the world if this team gets bounced in the playoffs, but I think they really need to capitalize on their momentum this year and make a run. Because it's never a guarantee they'll be back in a similar spot next year.

This is such a weird year. After it looking like nfc was a gauntlet, now the afc looks as dominant record wise. Meanwhile the bottom is putrid. Which reminded me - there has been so few dumb nfl upsets.

Panthers over rams is the biggest…and panthers are a playoff team.

All correct. They are seemingly one year ahead of schedule, which isn't a bad thing, but the window is now wide open for them, and they have to take advantage. Caleb will be entering Year 3 next year. His Year 3, 4 & 5 is the window. If he continues to progress, they'll be giving him a mega deal at some point, which will make things much harder to navigate. They have to take advantage during this window.

It's why I'd bet good money that the Bears end up with one of Garrett/Crosby/Hendrickson in the offseason. All would come at different costs, but if Garrett,  or even Crosby were on the 2025 Bears, I think they are considered a Super Bowl favorite this year. It's such a glaring need at an impact position. The time to make the big swing is here, to try and put this team over the top and make a run for the next 2-3 seasons.

They will have to do some pretty decent cap work to get a guy like that in here.
