May 20, 2025May 20 So our pitching depth is so deep that we have to sign a 32-year old journeyman to start a game tonight? Oops… Edited May 20, 2025May 20 by WhiteSox2023
May 20, 2025May 20 Author I know it's not likely, but if he could pitch not terribly and keep the bullpen's involvement to fewer innings, I say welcome aboard.

May 20, 2025May 20 I kinda wish they would have brought back Flexen. If he's eventually cut by the Cubs, I wouldn't mind picking him up. He at least ate innings last year and pitched to a 1.6 WAR (per BR). He settled on a minor league deal late in the offseason. Edited May 20, 2025May 20 by Bob Sacamano

Thank you CPT. Obvious. Looked like you were making some kind of point about the pitching depth since that's what you wrote .

As has been pointed out the top pitching talent appears to have regressed (big surprise right?) plus you've had six pitchers have TJS, a seventh (Gus Varland) may need it and an eight (Martin Perez) as well. Only in the world of the White Sox.

The offseason pitching depth has been depleted by both injuries and poor performance.

May 20, 2025May 20 Plus the hope of getting a bench filler AA piece at the deadline and somehow that ,000001% of they make it. It's the at least get something fans are so duped.

I gave you a chance to clarify you position but all you said was Houser is old and bad. Now you need Lip to help you be more coherent ? Maybe your point wasn't even obvious to you. So youre saying circumstances beyond any GMs control ( i.e. injuries) necessitate picking up less than desirable options to try not to suck as much.

Lip immediately knew what I was saying and agreed with me. You? Not so much. I wasn’t being cryptic so I’m not sure what to tell you…

The point is that they were supposed to. Getz’s starting pitching depth that didn’t unfortunately suffer injuries also failed performance-wise. See guys like Iriarte, Clevinger, and Owen White. Nastrini too, but he was technically acquired when Hahn was the GM. Edited May 20, 2025May 20 by WhiteSox2023

Noah Schultz has been pretty bad this year so far, which I am sure he is referencing. Only been 36 IP so far though.
