Moving Vargas off 3B is stupid.

On what planet has Andrew Vaughn proven to be a major leaguer?

It’s almost like the White Sox are really bad at developing and fail their players on the regular.  Sheets still doesn’t draw walks and leads the Padres in strikeouts, so it’s not some magical transfo

I'm thinking the plan vs RHP is Vargas 1B, Rojas 3B.

Always assign players positions they don't play and somehow you hope it doesn't hurt their career.  Of course for the Getz Sox that would be trade deadline career.

No shortage of stupid in baseball when it comes to habitual losing small market teams.  If baseball had stupid rankings instead of power rankings the Sox would be juggernauts.

And they just keep doing it. I think a lot of it has to do with LaRussa. He loved to play guys where they didn't play. He once put Ron Kittle in CF.

The best thing about this is someone got through to Reinsdorf. Maybe it means the young players will be unblocked.

We don't have great young guys, but playing bums in front of tem is still a huge mistake. The Rojas signing was a big

red flag.

I think that Palacios would have required a DFA, as he has no options left.

Fine with me

I'm okay with it OCCASIONALLY because he could be your 1st baseman of the future if Ramos shows anything.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Huh.

Org is a clown show.  Sent Vaughn down way way way later than they should've, and sent Elko down immediately because "we know what he is after 10 games"

Team is gonna lose over 110 games this year.  Who's your long term 1B option? Sosa? Palacios?

Ramos is still not even a good hitter at Charlotte...Vargas/Sosa have what value at 1B????

Vargas 3B Meidroth SS Sosa 2B Elko 1B...it's plain as day.

IMO this is a good solution for now. Vargas has proven he's more than solid at 3B. He's not just going to lose that playing a couple times a week at 3B and it protects his body a bit. Elko probably is JAG, replacement level, he can go rake back in AAA. The key is just getting that black hole and aura vampire Vaughn away from the team.

Ramos is currently at 202/660...nowhere near a logical promotion.

Are we at rock bottom yet?

Good.  Let the lazy ass rot there until he is non-tendered.

Hasn’t been playing well there for the most part?  If so, makes no sense to move him off the position.

Also, thank fucking god Vaughn’s ass has been demoted.  Two years too late, but hopefully I never have to see him again in a Sox uniform (if I’m ever able to watch a Sox game again this year).

I would say this is them trying to climb out of it.

He has been good, yes. But Vargas playing 1st frees up....Colson?

seems likely that Teel is coming up soon and the three catchers can all play first base. in addition to Sosa or Vargas or frankly anybody. first base is easy.

I'm curious if Vaughn can hit AAA pitching. My guess is no. He's toast.

I still think he’s a future all star

They should have released Vaughn. Sending him down is silly, stupid, dumb. Nice to see them messing with Elko's head already (sarcasm). Another sad day in franchise history.
