Ooh yes nice 1st inning !

Whoever fixed Vargas needs to work on Robert and a few other guys.

^^^^

Vargas just casually has like a top 10 OPS in baseball since the swing change

Vargas is the man. Might really be turning into a star.

dropped his elbow right into the ball

I could listen to Dan Plesac talk pitching all day.

Vargas was a simple fix. He already had a good approach and good pitch recognition. He then gained 20 lbs of muscle because they wanted him to drive the ball more.

He was still making weak contact however so they identified  something in biomechanics that they thought  higher hands and flatter  (horizontal ) bat pre-pitch would help.

Robert is more complex. He's never had a good approach or particularly good pitch recognition which is why with so much bat speed and physical talent he can look so bad.

Robert's problem is that he can no longer consistently hit first pitch fastball hard. Everything else is downstream imo. I don't know if you can fix his swing at this point in season.

Korey Lee refuses to eat mustard? Send him back to Charlotte

He’s honestly been a breath of fresh air. I hope he replaces Stone one day.

what part of the city you in brother?

Live in Brooklyn, work in Manhattan, so different odds than Citi Field.

It's just that rain forecasts have been frustrating as hell the past two springs/summers. Just loading up for days at a time. And always hitting on Saturday.

spent 5 very good years in sunset park and prospect heights. haven't been back since covid tho. Moved out to PNW in 2012 but still rep NYC forever.

Wow! Let's go.

Tauchmann's got a little gas left in the tank.

Shane Smith with run support? Yes please.

Can we DFA Taylor and bring back Baldwin? I'd even take Julks

Clutch Tauchman double makes Mets pay for bad defense ! 4-0

I wondered if that was the case with guys like Mantle.   Sometimes I wonder if more muscle mass = more injuries.

There are plenty of skinny guys in the HoF.

Yet we never hear want some of these guys like Brett, Gwynn, Henderson, and so many others did in the off season.  They fear could be it denies much science in modern sports.  We live in an age where more athletes are more brittle.

It is a mystery and no credible answers.  It's not even worth trying to explain so don't bother.

You gotta like Tauchman, nice lead, hold on for 5 innings then rain for 40 days and nights.

For Stone it's probably an age thing.

If it was so simple why didn’t the Dodgers do it?

Credit to Lee also on hustle into 1st and 2nd. Most catchers would have been out at 2nd on the botched GB by McNeill.

Yeah I think Julks should come back and serve as a RHH compliment.
