The road Sox get swept by the 14th in AL Orioles.

The home Sox split with the top of MLB Tigers.

They played Seattle, the Mets and the Tigers close. This team really isn't that far away.

Love having a guy who does this to opposing fanbases

  • Is John pissed he only had two pitches with Vargas up?  Didn’t have time to discuss the hand change.

We couldn't afford to fall any further behind Detroit in this series and the team accomplished what it needed to do.   Lots of baseball left in this season and lots of time to get back in the race!

I like your enthusiasm but don’t get carried away.

Need Robert to figure things out along with some power.

Right now this team reminds me of the Sox of the GO GO years but not close to that good.

They played the best team in MLB really tough but couldn’t win a game in Baltimore.

We now need some revenge against KC.

Kinda odd they "play down to the competition" of late.

Without a closer....they will never be able to put up long winning streaks, and they still don't have enough power in the middle of the lineup.

They also were swept by Baltimore.

Over 162 games you are what you are.

Any team can beat any team any game, any series. They still have the second worst record.

This team still needs like 3-4 power bats.

I could be wrong but Elko has more walkoffs than Eloy.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect the team, as their core players get better, and they gel as a team, to forego a closer or power hitters.

My God...a one run win and in extra innings too?

Incredible

I think he’s a keeper.

Sox are average to good at home right now; abysmal on road. The new manager is a success cause last year they stunk at home.

He's a success just NOT being Grifol.

Like Venture replacing Guillen in 2012.  Then it all just fell apart.

You and I have the same number as Eloy.  I think Elko is tied with Yoan now.

I think they’re approaching that “scrappy underdog” territory. Which is good!

But I feel like they’re also getting a lot of contributions from players that probably aren’t on the next decent Sox team. Which is less good.

But maybe that says something about the coaching staff. Which is good!

I'll say 'til I'm blue in the face.

Joshua Palacios is the Josh Rojas of Vinny Capras. 💩

The 4 guys nobody likes (Palacios, Rojas, Taylor, Capra) clocked in with a 6-13.

Anybody notice the post game when Ishbia was mentioned about financially helping there was a lot of smiles? Especially Garfien

Agreed, you finally got your true Madrigal.  Not all about power, but hard line drives and walks.  Madrigal didn’t do either.  He just didn’t strike out and would make weak contact outs.

Nick Madrigal OPSed .764 with the White Sox, and hit .300 both years on the Sox. Meidroth is OPSing .742.

Availability is a skill/talent.

True. It's because of the new way teams use starting pitchers. Pitchers are restricted to about 4 or 5 innings max so the Sox can throw out a bunch of average to below average arms and then start the parade of relievers with guys who throw hard and have cutters. So with all teams' rotations about the same (4-5 inning wonders) you get six decent hitters and you can contend. We've now got close to six with Teel up and Elko up to go with Beni, Quero, Meidroth and Robert.

Vargas is spelled V-A-R-G-A-S, not R-O-B-E-R-T.
