Lots of baseball left in this season and lots of time to get back in the race! I like your enthusiasm but don’t get carried away.

Need Robert to figure things out along with some power. Right now this team reminds me of the Sox of the GO GO years but not close to that good. They played the best team in MLB really tough but couldn’t win a game in Baltimore. We now need some revenge against KC.

Without a closer....they will never be able to put up long winning streaks, and they still don't have enough power in the middle of the lineup. They also were swept by Baltimore. Over 162 games you are what you are.

Any team can beat any team any game, any series. They still have the second worst record. This team still needs like 3-4 power bats. Yeah, I wouldn't expect the team, as their core players get better, and they gel as a team, to forego a closer or power hitters.

greg775
Sox are average to good at home right now; abysmal on road. The new manager is a success cause last year they stunk at home.

I think they’re approaching that “scrappy underdog” territory. Which is good! But I feel like they’re also getting a lot of contributions from players that probably aren’t on the next decent Sox team. Which is less good. But maybe that says something about the coaching staff. Which is good!

Not all about power, but hard line drives and walks. Madrigal didn’t do either. He just didn’t strike out and would make weak contact outs. It's because of the new way teams use starting pitchers. Pitchers are restricted to about 4 or 5 innings max so the Sox can throw out a bunch of average to below average arms and then start the parade of relievers with guys who throw hard and have cutters. So with all teams' rotations about the same (4-5 inning wonders) you get six decent hitters and you can contend. We've now got close to six with Teel up and Elko up to go with Beni, Quero, Meidroth and Robert.
