tray
IMO, Sosa is probably going to hit about 20 more HR than Meidroth and should hit for a higher BA. I might be wrong but that is my opinion from watching the WSox last year, If it was up to me, I'd take the extra 20HR and live with a few more errors. A lot of teams put a premium on HRs , likely because HRs win a lot of games. To me, Meidroth is Madrigal 2.0, not a mighty mite like Pedroia, and for being a small player, he did not prove to be a very good base runner. Shriff loved the guy but I didn't, maybe because of the Madrigal experience.

I also think the Madrigal comp is a very poor one. Nick was tiny while Meidroth is fairly average height (neither offer much power). Meidroth is also one of the most selective hitters in baseball and Nick was one of the most aggressive.
Bob Sacamano
Too bad we couldn’t combine the 2: Chenyn Sodroth

He walks more but just from my memory of last years games, he was not a very good base runner. 20 more HR. I'll take that every day and every way. You can't make a 20 HR deficit up that easily with walks, dinks and dunks and smoke and mirrors. But everyone has their set of favorite players and for some reason Sosa is not on many of them. He isn't a favorite of mine, but I am one who values the long ball and I just don't see where the WSox pick up 20HR over what they expect from the rest of the line-up. And while Sosa sucks on D, once again, he led the team in HR last year.
Chick Mercedes
As much as we talk building culture around here, baseball smart and defense should be a premium. Try and get something for Sosa and help our new manager establish a baseline of expectations for playing good baseball.

We don't know if Sosa might be better than Murakami at first in which case they might split time between 1B/DH. I'd like to see both in the lineup. GreenSox
I don’t see the urgency to trade either Meidroth or Sosa. Neither is fully fleshed out and neither will bring a whole lot in return. Sure if we can find a similarly situated OF, parcularly CF; but more likely, this is when thev start dumping young players for middle relievers and other assorted dullards. Same thing with our catchers, unless someone offers something interesting for Lee. I think some OF work for Sosa would be wise.

For Lee, he’s out of options and you’re losing him for nothing if you don’t carry three catchers. It’s a pretty cut and dry situation depending on their plan for the bench. For Sosa, it’s a question around playing time. If you can play him in LF some, that would really help out a ton as DH at-bats are going to be hard to come by. But you certainly don’t move him unless he can net you something of real value.
