They would sit in the Chicago studio and receive info on every pitch via teletype, and then broadcast the pitch as if they were seeing it, all with fake crowd sound effects. We were easily fooled.

I also loved listening to Farmer and DJ on the radio as well. Such a great listen. DJ is still good alongside Kasper. I think Kasper needs to stay radio though. It's his sweet spot. He tends to by dry/not as entertaining to listen to on TV IMO for some reason. Elson was the voice of the White Sox from 1926 to 1942 and again from 1946 to 1970. That was broken up with WWII when he served in the Navy. It was during that tour of duty that he earned the nickname "ol' Commander." In case you are wondering...I only started listening during his 2nd tour with the WS, around 1955 or so.
July 4Jul 4 I realize that Dominguez is making some big money but would it be such a bad thing for him to be demoted to the minor leagues. He might work out his problems there.

July 4Jul 4 Dominguez is going to be here. They need to keep running him out there and try and figure it out.
July 4Jul 4 Home and road wins and losses come down to the pitching. The batting is for the most part is the same. The pitching on the road has + 2 era, attributed to hits, walks, and home runs increase.

It made no sense to me at the time to sign this guy and make him your closer. I just figured this team was not going to be any good and they just didn't care and thought maybe they can turn him around and flip him.

July 4Jul 4 Sir Anthony needs to start getting regular work as a set up guy. Let Taylor close. I think Domínguez will be better with some regular work in a regular role. We are stuck with him anyway.
July 4Jul 4 Getz basically set 26 million dollars on fire this off season. Dominguez and Hays have been a total dumpster fire

But Getz got the big signing right. When you are choosing between 5th starters and middle relievers and platoon outfielders, you are going to have a lot of misses. Ideally you fill most of those spots internally, and using the $ on, say, extending Vargas.
July 5Jul 5 Thankfully, Grant Taylor took Seranthony's spot. That said, what role does Dominguez have moving forward? The guy that comes in when there is a "less stressful situation?" How many of those have the Sox had lately? Dominguez last performance was a joke...bouncing a wild pitch before it hit home plate, walking two batters that ended up scoring and winning the game for CLE. Yea Getz signed him to a 2 year deal, but his patience has to be wearing thin with Dominguez. He has become a liability.

I’m sure he plans on going to free agency in three years unless the Sox offer him a sizable extension.
