"I'm not paying for this!  You said you were going to fix my car!  All you did was make it work like it did previously!"

  • If it were me, I’d walk down to Acuna and demand he bat switch hitter all season.

Nope, kid is fucking cooked.  If you ain’t fixed before your first full minor league season as a prep pick then it’s officially game over man.

This is great news - If he can get back to who he was pre injury I think it will make a big difference for the rebuild.

In his first 7 pro games of 2024, Thorpe threw 6 of 7 games with game scores of 57, 69, 63, 66, 58, 69. He then fell off the table for two horrible starts. He was subsequently put on the IL. If that guy comes back, he will be a force.

Otoh, Walker Buehler went from a Top 5 pitcher in mlb to being on the verge of his last chance to hang on.

Good thing we didn't sign Walker Buehler, then.

Spring training is purposeful. Methodical. It’s not a needless extra curricular activity

Cautiously but increasingly optimistic about Acuna

As a responsibility of making the team, Murphy was tasked with telling Alberto he was being put on waivers.

This was after Walker had his second reconstruction. Thorpe is on his first and hopefully last.

I like Braden starting in AA. Also, Carlson will start in Kanny.

Seems we already had this debate...

Not sure about starting Hagen in AAA...4-6 weeks of BIRM starts to continue stacking confidence would have been another approach.

Who did Murphy make it over?

Eisert or Gilbert?  Both?

Paez is going to be rostered now?

What?  Why?

The dude is 19 and has zero MILB at bats.  Seems like the right place for him.

Smith needs to go to AAA.  He did well last year at Birmingham, then did well in AFL. Move him up.

It's where Carlson was always going to go.

Vasil is likely out for a while if not all year - at least that's where it seems headed.

With the luck this team had last year in the injury department, probably.  Let’s hope not.

Some talk that Sox wanted to hold him in Arizona to start the year until they felt like his swing was in a good spot. So by that metric it's a nice development
