Still don't care.

Why are you still responding to me? This is a rhetorical question btw since you need everything spelled out. Do not continue to communicate with me. Thank you

  • WestEddy is owed an apology by many people here as well. You gave a lofty win total as your prediction, and it seems you may be close. People slammed Getz for his moves, but you rightfully defended hi

Whoever the scout was that recommended Colson in the draft needs a raise. He's been one of the best players in MLB since the day he came up. If he played in any other market the hype would be non stop

Who cares who predicted it? Nobody on this board gets paid for predicting something right, when you leave this site nobody cares what predictions were made. The team is fun right now and all you are

Has anybody on this forum been more vindicated than @WestEddy ? He should be showing receipts and serving up crow to everybody.

My contribution to the bait thread. I just want to say, even Getz supporters can't claim most of the reasons this team is OK because most of the successes were still guys from the prior regime and they gave him no blame for that, so no credit is owed.

Getz still stinks obviously. Banni is awesome, always has been. And this team provides some entertainment for the first time in years. Those are all true.

I want nothing more than for WE to dunk on me as a Getz supporter because this team stays in "contention" into August. He'll be wrong on credit Getz, but we'll both be celebrating the outcome. Won't happen since the pitching stinks, but still.

Don't give me that bullshit*t Ray Ray.

Getz's first batch of trades all failed, miserably. Like, in the way that Grichuk and Romo have had "games", nobody from that first off-season had a game. Every single position player sat at a .452 OPS into June. Every pitcher not named Crochet looked like they were facing hungry lions and counted their fingers after every pitch. The trades made sense. Bummer for Soroka and ... guys ... seemed like a fair gamble. Santos for Berroa, a draft pick and some dude looked innocuous. Fedde rounded into shape. Flexen could keep the game within single digits.

It's just nice to see some guys pick it up and develop, like Vargas. It's a fun team.

Martin, Montgomery, Mune, Burke and Vargas make up the bulk of their fWAR. Then there’s the potential of Schultz and Taylor. Almost all of those decisions/evaluations came under Hahn except one.

I guess if you want to project Teel and Braden into stardom before it has actually happened?

Meidroth probably is a 2-3 fWAR guy, like Antonacci.

Two “mini” wins there

The Cease trade (especially in retrospect, he’s once again a Top 5 pitcher), Booser/Fajardo, Santos to Seattle, taking Hagen Smith over a BUNCH of positional prospects that have made significant impacts across MLB, not good. The Bummer for Lopez/Soroka move only looks better now, but for AZ. And Acuna?

In addition, Mune is at least 50% Boyer, as every team shied away from him until he fell right in their laps, just like Abreu in 2014.

If you want to give out awards, it’s probably Milwaukee for stealing Kyle Harrison from the Red Sox, or Chaim Bloom in St. Louis for really turning that team around in baseball’s toughest division.

Or give them to Bannister and Venable…

Lest we forget, the Sox are members of the very worst division in baseball. And that’s really quite fortunate for Getz, JR and Ishbia (at least for now) and especially Sox fans desperate for a pennant race after three years wandering in the desert.

why would i apologize to him for hitting that home run

Who predicted over 80 wins?

I don't think anyone was THAT high....

Would have to be smarter than 29 gm's paid $750k-7.5 million to be exactly right on forecasting Mune Colson Vargas and Martin.

The team is fun right now and all you are trying to do is tell everyone not to enjoy it for reasons that might happen if something else happens

I give JR/Getz credit for constructing this unique, entertaining and winning roster. Now I want them to keep this group together. Don't over-analyze metrics or penny pinch, even on the periphery. Extend Mune, keep this group together. That will reward loyal fans and at the same time,. prove your critics wrong.

I owe Getz nothing! I have gone from despising him to hating him, it's an improvement. He's still got a lot of work to do with the Man in the high castle looking over him.

I predicted closest to 80 wins so I should get the most credit.

I think I said 82 wins in the bold predictions thread, and 77-78 elsewhere.

It's May 15th. Let's see what everything looks like on July 15th. We're still pretty early into the season, and a lot can change in two months.

Objectively, this has been the most exciting stretch of baseball for the Sox since 2021. I've started to watch more, and can't deny the good vibes. I think getting Robert off this team was important, to truly turn the page on the last era of White Sox baseball. Heard Jesse on 1000 yesterday, talking about how he was in the clubhouse on Wednesday night, and how different it felt in there having covered the previous years teams. Too many "hurt lockers" with Eloy, Moncada, Robert, Abreu in the corner by himself (who wasn't the leader everyone made him out to be).

There were a lot of different outcomes possible for the Sox coming into the season. Mune could have been an absolute bust. Colson was really a wild card, does he get better, or does he turn into the guy that had to be sent to development complex in 2025 to basically start over? Is this staff going to be able to keep them in games at all? All of them have turned into huge positives, and it's great to see.

Getting Teel back is also going to make an impact. That's a big missing piece and excited to see him back in the lineup. Other guys are going to come back to earth. Really don't think Davis Martin is going to win the Cy Young, which he's basically on pace for right now. But with a shitty AL Central, they should be good enough to hang around, after the last 3 years of putrid play, we'll all take that in 2026.

You can still critique your favorite team and still be a loyal fan.

Nothing more hilarious than people trying to control/gatekeep fandom.

Definitely. Everything (not just this board) has gotten so polarized it leaves little room for common sense.
