5/3 Sox @ Padres - 3:10PM CT

Featured Replies

You guys are really crashing out for being down two and taking 2 of 3 from the Padres on the road and winning 5 in a row.

Bad baseball is bad baseball. We have given this game away today.

The cost of a starter who is highly likely to be good is...a lot higher than what the Sox paid Anthony Kay. I don't see the potential failure of Kay as some important sign of Getz's competence.

Mason is waiting in the Padres bullpen but they may not need him. This game is ovah.

People haven't been able to s%*# on Getz for a week. Need to let it out.

This wasn't the case for Kay in his previous MLB stints, but in this season's small sample he has very pronounced lefty/righty splits. Might bode well for how a transition to the bullpen would go.

He was already a reliever in the majors before he went to Japan and he was absolutely awful.

antonacci can't stop striking out all the sudden

team would be alone in a wild card spot with a win it's fun to put importance on things that aren't important otherwise why watch 162 games

Kelenic, Acuña and Kay can all go play for the alaska goldpanners. Acuña is brutal.

I agree it's nice that games seem important again but...they are going to lose sometimes. They have had games given to them this year, of course they are going to give other teams a game here and there.

Not paid to be a reliever though.

Only effective against lhbers.

Morejon not going to be easy.

Canning allowed to get his confidence due to Kay and bad baserunning bailing him out early.

Kay just needs to fill innings the other two are beyond worthless

The people who are negative about every single move, even proclaiming that the White Sox would never sign Murakami or Colson wouldn't stick at SS - need to claim vindication and take a victory lap whenever a signing looks bad for a game.

Looks like it was the right move.

That's true but his arsenal is completely different now. He didn't throw sinker or cutter when he was last in MLB. Used to throw lots of slow curves. Shape of the four-seamer and slider is different now. And he's gained velo. Might just be different lipstick on the same pig in the end but I wouldn't assume that everything translates exactly the same way.

5IP 3ER from Kay is fine lol, Pads weren't getting held to <5 runs for the series

Guys need to be smarter on offense

Realistically, you can't really complain too much about giving up 3 over 5 IP from our worst SP on the road against a good team.

It would still be nice to win this game to get to .500 and go from there.

Easy to say after he gave up two taters in the prior inning.,
